After storms No. 5 and 6, the whole province had 286 educational establishments severely affected, with damages amounting to nearly 136 billion VND. During this time, the staff and teachers also dried tables and chairs, cleaned and redecorated the classrooms to create an exciting atmosphere for students on the opening day. During the time of repairing damaged classrooms, we will also arrange temporary classrooms according to the direction of the education sector to ensure the maintenance of teaching and learning activities”.

During the recent storm, Phu Viet Kindergarten (Viet Xuyen Commune) was also significantly affected when the door system of the 4th grade building was blown off and the glass was broken. The 2-story building also had its corrugated iron roof stripped off, and the school grounds and fairy garden were damaged. Faced with the damage caused by storm No. 5 and floods, the education sector has also urgently taken action to ensure teaching and learning conditions before the new school year. Mr. Nguyen Hong Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training said: "The sector has requested educational institutions across the province, especially areas affected by natural disasters, to conduct a thorough review of facilities, teaching equipment, textbooks and school supplies. Schools need to proactively propose support plans from the locality, and at the same time synthesize and report to the department for timely handling, so as not to affect students' learning.
The education sector also requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to urgently deploy synchronous solutions, coordinate with units, organizations and individuals to provide timely support to damaged schools. In cases beyond capacity, it is necessary to immediately report to the Department of Education and Training to advise the Provincial People's Committee on effective support plans, ensuring that students have enough books and supplies right from the beginning of the new school year.

The storm has left behind many difficulties, but in that hardship, the spirit of solidarity, sharing and the will to overcome difficulties of the schools, the cooperation of the forces are stronger than ever. From the schools that have just been cleaned, from the classrooms with desks and chairs that have just been dried, the sound of the opening drum is about to ring out as a strong affirmation of the efforts to overcome difficulties of the studious homeland of Hong Lam.
