Affirming the role of the private health system in caring for and protecting people's health

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of February 26, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam and representatives of relevant departments, branches and localities visited and presented gifts to the system of hospitals under the Hang Kenh Corporation on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2024).

Hang Kenh Corporation is a state-owned enterprise that has been equitized since 2006. Up to now, the unit has 03 hospitals and 01 international clinic with a total of 1,800 actual beds/8,983 planned beds and accounts for 15.39% of the actual beds in the whole city. The hospitals are designed and built according to modern international standards, a hotel-hospital model, with a system of modern operating rooms and luxurious inpatient rooms.

The total workforce of 03 Hospitals and 01 Clinic is 1,510 people, including 501 doctors, including: 1 Professor, 6 Associate Professors, 8 PhDs, 35 BSCKII, 166 BSCKI, BS.Ths, Resident Doctors and hundreds of Central doctors working part-time at the Hospitals and coordinating the implementation of advanced techniques.

Dr. Pham Thu Xanh, Deputy General Director of the Corporation and Executive Director of Hai Phong International Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital, informed about the outstanding achievements.

Last year, the entire system examined about 663,000 people (an average of 1,800 cases/day), treated 67,192 inpatients, performed 14,753 surgeries, 306,636 procedures, 1,280,000 diagnostic imaging cases, and 3.5 million tests. The total number of births was nearly 8,000, accounting for nearly 1/3 of the city's births. Although it has just started operating, the Reproductive Support Center has achieved RTAC international certification under the Australian Reproductive Society. The Center has performed embryo transfers for nearly 900 IVF cycles/year. In particular, the International Maternity and Pediatric Hospital has successfully rescued and raised 110 premature low birth weight babies, and successfully raised many extremely premature babies from 25-26 weeks, weighing only 750 grams...

In the coming time, Hang Kenh Corporation will focus on accelerating the progress of the Thuy Nguyen International General Hospital Project with a scale of 19 floors and 500 beds; Hai Duong International Hospital Complex with 1,500 beds including general, oncology and obstetrics and pediatrics; implementing the Phase II project of Vinh Bao International Hospital; continuing to implement the hospital and resort project on Cat Ba Island and Cat Bi Geriatric Hospital...

Visiting the unit, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam acknowledged and praised the achievements of the Hang Kenh Corporation's hospital system in recent years. These achievements have played an important role in the work of caring for and protecting the health of the city's people, and together with the health sector, striving to make Hai Phong a medical center in the Northern coastal region.

On this occasion, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee wished the doctors and nurses of the entire system of hospitals under the Hang Kenh Corporation and their families good health and happiness; wished the system of hospitals to continue to reap many successes, affirming the role of the private healthcare system in the work of caring for and protecting people's health.
