In Tam Anh commune, the summer activity atmosphere this year became more exciting with the organization of the first camp “Tam Anh - Reaching for the future”. Compared to before, this camp has increased its scale by 3 times.

Mr. Huynh Minh Phat, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tam Anh commune, Secretary of the commune Youth Union, said: After the merger, the number of youth union members in the area increased significantly, with more than 1,119 youth union members (equivalent to the size of a mountainous district in Quang Nam before).

However, the difference in the way the union branches of the (old) merged communes operate has led to confusion in the management and organization of activities in the communes.

“The successful organization of the camp has contributed to connecting the Youth Union organizations and youth union members after the merger. This is the basis for the Youth Union to continue to perfect its apparatus and personnel in the coming time,” said Mr. Phat.

Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Youth Union and Head of the Youth Union and Children's Affairs Department Le Kim Thuong said that similar to Tam Anh commune, in many other localities, the Youth Union has had activities to launch, strengthen the organization and unite and gather youth union members after the merger.

According to statistics, from July 1 to now, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the city have organized nearly 500 activities in response to the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. This is an impressive number, showing that the pace of the grassroots Youth Union organization after the merger is having many positive changes.

However, the abolition of the district level forced the City Youth Union to directly manage a large number of grassroots units with very different sizes and characteristics, leading to initial confusion and passivity.

Besides, the shortage of key positions and the situation of cadres holding too many concurrent jobs also affect the ability to gather and manage at the grassroots level...

“The difficulties that the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Da Nang City is facing are inevitable in this period of historical transformation. However, it is in these challenges that the role and mettle of the organization are further affirmed. With determination, creativity and innovative thinking, the Youth Union is gradually removing obstacles, creating a solid foundation for long-term development,” Mr. Thuong acknowledged.

Mr. Le Cong Hung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city and Secretary of the City Youth Union, emphasized that the top priority to overcome difficulties is to perfect the apparatus and improve the capacity of cadres.

The City Youth Union is reviewing and perfecting key positions at grassroots units to ensure stable operation of the apparatus.

Prepare personnel for the Youth Union Congresses at all levels; at the same time, open training courses with innovation, focusing on in-depth training in leadership skills, political thinking and digital technology.

That way, Youth Union cadres will be fully equipped with the courage and intelligence to adapt to all changes and be more confident in their roles.

Currently, the City Youth Union has edited the organization tree on the Youth Union Management Software of communes and wards to match the new organization after the merger. The City Youth Union continues to promote the digitization of union member data, using online platforms for direction and management.

“This not only helps to transmit information smoothly, but also creates a two-way interactive channel, helping the Youth Union leaders promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of youth union members and Youth Union officials at all levels. From there, it helps to overcome difficulties and affirm the position and role of youth,” Mr. Hung mentioned.
