In response to the Day of Honoring the Vietnamese Language in the Overseas Vietnamese Community (September 8 every year), the Foreign Television Department (VTV4), Vietnam Television in collaboration with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a special art performance program Dear Mother Tongue to honor the Vietnamese language in the overseas Vietnamese community.
Gala Dear Mother's Voice gathers touching and inspiring stories about the love and dedication to preserving the Vietnamese language and cultural identity of the Vietnamese community around the world; at the same time, honors "Vietnamese language ambassadors", those who have made positive contributions to activities to spread Vietnamese language and culture to the world .

Sharing with Thanh Nien , singer Khanh Linh said that the song "Lullaby" she sang in today's program is a child's gratitude to her mother. This is a poetic song, mother is the first great friend in the life of children, with mother children are always loved, always protected. Mother is like a cool breeze in summer, or like a warm blanket in winter. This is the first feeling of any child. And after growing up, mother will be the one to give wings to the child's dreams. This is the song she sang 20 years ago in the album called "Green Morning" .
"Today, I was very moved to sing this song again in a special art program honoring the Vietnamese language. Through this, I also want to send a message to those who are far away from home, to always preserve the culture and traditions when we are Vietnamese, especially the Vietnamese language because that is the connection for you to remember your homeland and not forget your race," Khanh Linh said.
Speaking at the Beloved Mother Tongue art program, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son said that Vietnamese language is a precious asset of the Vietnamese people, reflecting, maintaining and spreading the identity and quintessence of Vietnamese culture, contributing to consolidating the independence of the Fatherland and national unity.

For the community of nearly 6 million Vietnamese people living, studying and working abroad, Vietnamese is a source of traditional pride, a connecting fulcrum, a factor in preserving traditional cultural identity, helping people affirm their position and confidently integrate with the world.
"Preserving and promoting the Vietnamese language in the overseas Vietnamese community is an important task with practical significance and profound scientific and humanistic values," Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized.
The 2023 Vietnamese Language Honoring Gala with the theme Dear Mother Tongue takes the audience through many levels of emotions in 5 chapters: Origin; Vietnamese - my language; Spreading Vietnamese; Journey back; Vietnamese language ambassadors.
The program features many famous artists such as singers Khanh Linh, Dong Hung, Hoang Quyen, Duong Tran Nghia... with excellent performances, elaborately staged.
Opening the art program Dear Mother's Voice was the mashup performance Red Blood Yellow Skin and Vietnam in Me by singer Dong Hung, KBen dance group and Childhood Stars club.

Chapter 1 with the theme of Origin will bring the audience to the physical drama Mother's Children by director Hoang Tung. The play conveys a linguistic message that helps open the door to return to the homeland and origin.
Interwoven with physical drama in the Dear Mother's Voice gala are attractive musical performances with messages about love for the homeland and country; along with touching and inspiring reports about the dedication and efforts of the overseas Vietnamese community to preserve the Vietnamese language in chapters 2, 3, 4, 5. The reports were made in many countries such as Australia, Sri Lanka, Poland, Sweden, France and Vietnam.
Physical drama is the highlight of the Dear Mother's Voice gala
The program is presented in a special style, combining television with stage performance. It is a story with a chapter-act structure, a journey that opens the doors, the stories of Vietnamese language messengers.

Ms. Tran Hong Van, a language researcher in Australia, one of the five Vietnamese ambassadors in the program, shared: "I am a researcher on the Vietnamese language program for Vietnamese children in Australia. My research project from 2018 - 2022 has found an important result, which is a fundamental factor in preserving Vietnamese for children abroad, that parents must speak Vietnamese to their children from a young age. And parents must have love and positive feelings for both Vietnamese culture and language."
"I really hope that young parents in Australia and other places around the world will love Vietnamese, speak Vietnamese to their children and spread that love to their children so that they will always feel proud of speaking Vietnamese and being Vietnamese," said Ms. Van.
