On the evening of August 27, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team suffered a 0-3 defeat to Kenya. That was their last match at the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship.
At the same time, it was also the last time fans could see the Vietnamese volleyball girls compete in the first training session in 2025. After the world tournament, the whole team returned home on August 28 and will immediately disband.
The first training session of 2025 started in April. Over the past 4 months, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has participated in many major tournaments, such as the AVC Nations Cup, VTV Cup, SEA V.League stages 1 and 2, and most recently the Women's Volleyball World Championship.
In addition, some athletes were also sent to participate in the Shanghai Future Star Friendly Tournament in China. It can be said that fans have gradually become accustomed to watching stars like Bich Tuyen, Thanh Thuy, Bich Thuy, and Nhu Quynh compete continuously.
But then the time comes for the athletes to return to their home clubs.
Captain Thanh Thuy will go to Japan in September to play for the Gunma Green Wings. Vi Thi Nhu Quynh will also go to Indonesia to play for the Yoga Falcons, although the exact departure date is unknown.
The remaining athletes will return to domestic teams such as VTV Binh Dien Long An , Information Corps, Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals, LPBank Ninh Binh, etc. to compete in phase 2 of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
Phase 2 will take place from around October 10 to 19, 2025. At least after this period, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team can regroup. At that time, the goal of the coaching staff and athletes will be to prepare best to win the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games in December in Thailand.
