Taking us to visit the model of growing melons in greenhouses and net houses of Mr. Phung Minh Ngoc (born in 1990), Mr. Hoang Anh Thu, Deputy Director of Tan Minh Duc Cooperative, Pham Tran Commune (Gia Loc) said that this is a typical economic model of the cooperative because of the rather unique investment scale owned by young people.

Previously, Mr. Ngoc's family had 1.2 hectares of rice fields but rented them out to others for more than ten years. Although he was selling household goods and bringing in a good income, Mr. Ngoc realized that investing in agriculture was a sustainable development direction and brought in high income, so he decided to return to agriculture and apply to become a member of Tan Minh Duc Cooperative.

Joining the cooperative, he was guided by the Board of Directors and his predecessors on how to grow suitable crops, provided with technical guidance, care experience, and market research. He attended training courses offered by the cooperative and learned agricultural knowledge on social networks. “I invested 1.5 billion VND to build a greenhouse and net house with an area of 1.2 hectares. So far, I have harvested 3 crops of melons. I expect to recover my capital in just about 2 years,” said Ngoc.

Mr. Nguyen Van Long and his wife, members of the Bach Dang Clean Agricultural Products Production and Trading Cooperative (Kinh Mon) invested in a grape growing model.

Born in 1993, having worked in many provinces and cities as an electrician, Nguyen Van Long has now returned and is a member of the Bach Dang Clean Agricultural Products Production and Trading Cooperative (Kinh Mon). Mr. Long said that in the past, he helped his parents with farming so he had some knowledge. When he joined agriculture, he was quite confident and successfully built a model of raising chickens, pigs, raising apple snails, growing dragon fruit, grapes... "Income from agricultural production depends on the season but is also quite high and sustainable. I will stick with agricultural production for a long time," Mr. Long affirmed.

Mr. Vu Van Thuong, Lo Cuong residential area, Tu Minh ward ( Hai Duong city) successfully established a cooperative to produce and consume rice paper.

That is the affirmation of Mr. Hoang Anh Thu, Deputy Director of Tan Minh Duc Cooperative, Pham Tran Commune (Gia Loc). Mr. Thu said that in the past, the cooperative members were mostly elderly people because young people often like to "fly around", do not like to get their hands dirty. However, in recent years, the number of young people returning to choose to stick with agriculture has increased. Currently, Tan Minh Duc Cooperative has 189 members, of which about 30 are under 40 years old, and those over 50 years old account for a small number. Explaining this, Mr. Thu said: "We choose to produce agriculture in the direction of high-tech agriculture, so the income from agriculture is very large, many times higher than other fields, so it attracts young people".

Born in 1989, Mr. Vu Van Thuong has been the Director of the Lo Cuong Rice Paper Production and Packaging Cooperative, Tu Minh Ward (Hai Duong City) for 2 years. With the desire to create an equal and harmonious working environment for everyone, he established the cooperative instead of the company model. "We invest in machinery, produce according to a closed process, the products are packaged, have clear addresses, so they attract customers," said Mr. Thuong. Currently, the cooperative supplies about 60 tons of rice paper to the market each month, but it is still not enough to meet customer demand.

Melon gardens grown in greenhouses and net houses bring high income to Mr. Phung Minh Ngoc in Pham Tran commune (Gia Loc).

To promote land efficiency when returning to agriculture, Mr. Phung Danh Bac, a member of Tan Minh Duc Cooperative, shared: "I grow off-season crops, new varieties and follow safe processes to target high-end markets. Thanks to that, agricultural production has achieved high value."

With the return of many young people as well as the boldness in choosing the cooperative model to start a business, in the coming time, this type of economy will develop further, bringing significant income to members as well as contributing to socio-economic development. "Previously, I was worried about the next generation of cooperative development. But with the current situation, those worries are no longer when more and more young people are interested in this economic model," Mr. Thu shared.
