At the same time, it is a market that receives gas products from many neighboring provinces, so gas business activities are quite active. Gas companies that account for a large market share in Thai Nguyen are: Hong Ha, Van Loc, Venus, Petrolimex ...
According to preliminary statistics, the gas consumption output in the whole province is about 20-22 thousand tons/year (excluding the consumption of Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen Co., Ltd. and its supporting companies and excluding the amount of gas decanted by traders in Thai Nguyen transferred to other provinces).
According to information from the Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade, in the province there are currently 9 LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) traders, 5 LPG filling traders and hundreds of households, establishments, and gas retail stores. LPG traders and LPG filling traders basically comply with the provisions of the law, however, gas retail stores still have violations and fraud in business.
From 2021 to July 16, 2023, the Market Management Department of Thai Nguyen province inspected 84 cases and handled 22 cases related to liquefied petroleum gas. The total amount of administrative fines is over 80 million VND. The main violations are: Not meeting the conditions of LPG bottle retail stores , illegal gas decanting , violating regulations on product trademarks, etc.
Some typical cases include: In 2022, the Market Management force organized an inspection and discovered that a business household owned by Mr. DVV, in Diem Thuy commune (Phu Binh), had retailed LPG cylinders at a facility without a certificate of eligibility for LPG cylinder retail stores; established a book or electronic database using information technology to monitor LPG cylinders but did not have sufficient information about LPG cylinders as prescribed. The Market Management force drew up a record and imposed an administrative fine of over 16 million VND.
Also in Phu Binh district, in 2022, the authorities discovered a business owned by Mr. PNY illegally decanting LPG from large capacity LPG cylinders to mini LPG cylinders. The authorities confiscated the infringing items, including 1 12kg LPG cylinder branded Petrodec Gas, 6 mini LPG cylinders (refilled), 24 mini LPG cylinders and 1 gas valve (1 inlet, 3 outlet metal type), and imposed a fine of 25 million VND.

Although inspection and handling of violations have been strengthened, according to representatives of the authorities, violations in the gas business are still quite complicated. The most prominent problem is still illegal decanting. The subjects do it secretly, in closed spaces, so it is very difficult for the authorities to detect and catch them red-handed. In addition, the subjects use fake seals that look like genuine seals, causing difficulties in the inspection process.
This behavior causes the risk of explosion when decanting, damaging the brand of reputable gas companies. Consumers suffer losses when having to pay more than the real value. At the same time, it leads to the phenomenon of old gas cylinders being stored and used in stores and households for a long time, causing deterioration, reducing safety, leading to the risk of explosion.

In order to protect the brand, the Company has just deployed a Petrolimex Thai Nguyen gas switchboard with a single phone number 19001287, and at the same time, affixed a seal with a QR code on the cylinder. Before use, customers should use their phones to check the QR code to check whether the gas cylinder is genuine or not.
According to the recommendations of the authorities, to use genuine gas products with guaranteed quality, people should check the type of gas they are using and carry out inspections according to the manufacturer's regulations. Before use, people should carefully check the inspection date stamped on the gas cylinder and immediately notify the authorities if the gas cylinder is past its inspection date.
