Thai Nguyen - a safe destination

Nui Coc Lake tourist area is a destination chosen by many tourists.

Thai Nguyen has become a locality possessing rich and diverse tourism resources, with many types of tourism: Cultural - historical, spiritual, ecological, resort, community and adventure sports .

Currently, the province has more than 1,000 historical and cultural relics, including 1 special national relic (ATK Dinh Hoa), 59 national relics, and 242 provincial relics. Along with that, there are more than 550 intangible cultural heritages, including 23 recognized national intangible cultural heritages.

In recent years, the provincial tourism industry has continuously made breakthroughs in the number of tourists and revenue, affirming that tourism is truly becoming an important economic sector of the province.

Evidence shows that in 2024, the tourism industry welcomed nearly 3.5 million visitors, an increase of nearly 40% compared to 2023. Total revenue from tourism reached more than 3,100 billion VND, an increase of more than 44% compared to 2023. This is the result of continuous efforts in innovation, diversification of tourism products and investment in infrastructure.

Thai Nguyen is blessed with many beautiful landscapes, notably Nui Coc Lake; Ghenh Che Lake (Song Cong), Phuong Hoang Cave - Mo Ga Stream (Vo Nhai), Khuon Tat Waterfall (Dinh Hoa)... Right in Thai Nguyen City, there is also the Museum of Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures. In particular, the Thai Hai Ecological Ethnic Stilt House Village Conservation Area was honored by the World Tourism Organization as one of the "Best Tourist Villages in the World".

During summer vacation, many tourists bring their children to experience Suoi Coc Homestay Tourist Destination, Phuc Triu Commune (Thai Nguyen City).

In the first months of this year, the province has 2 more tourist destinations: Suoi Coc Homestay, Phuc Triu Commune (Thai Nguyen City) and Hao Huc Village, Phuc Tan Commune (Pho Yen City), recognized as provincial-level tourist destinations, bringing the total number of provincial-level tourist destinations to 13.

Along with that, a new tourism product called “Thai Nguyen City Tour” has officially come into operation. A short tour in the heart of Thai Nguyen City with a duration of 1/2 day, or a full day, depending on the needs of tourists.

In recent years, the tea regions of Tan Cuong (Thai Nguyen City); La Bang (Dai Tu); Minh Lap (Dong Hy) have become friendly destinations. The province's tea regions attract tens of thousands of domestic and foreign tourists to experience tea picking with farmers, enjoy the flavor of tea made by their own hands and enjoy local cuisine.

Along with improving product quality, the province's tourism industry always attaches importance to investing in developing infrastructure and services. Currently, the province has 541 accommodation establishments, with more than 6,800 rooms, including 57 hotels with 1 to 3 star standards and hundreds of motels and homestays to meet the diverse needs of tourists. During holidays, many accommodation establishments are fully booked by tourists.

In tourism development, Thai Nguyen aims to develop eco-tourism and community tourism in a people-centered manner, associated with cultural preservation, environmental protection and sustainable livelihood development. Models such as agricultural tourism, craft village tourism, and indigenous resort tourism are increasingly receiving investment attention, bringing practical benefits to both locals and tourists.

In particular, Thai Nguyen province has been positioning itself in the high-end tourism segment. Typical examples include the 6-star international resort project invested by Flamingo Group at Nui Coc Lake; the Glory and Tan Thai golf course projects are being implemented. These are tourist areas that attract customers with high spending capacity.

It is expected that in 2025, the province's tourism industry will welcome more than 6.2 million visitors, including more than 250,000 international visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching more than 6,120 billion VND. These are impressive numbers showing that Thai Nguyen tourism has entered an era of development with the country, and is also a testament to the effectiveness of the orientation of sustainable tourism development.
