Photos released by the Spanish Royal Family capture the moment Leonor ran to hug her mother at the port of Fuerte Amador (Panama). The reunion took place on Mother's Day in Spain, making the moment even more meaningful.

According to sources from the Spanish Royal Family, Queen Letizia's trip was unofficial, she traveled to Panama in a private capacity. All her activities during the trip were kept secret, she appeared simply at the port during the moment of reunion with her daughter.
During her stay in Panama, Princess Leonor joined her mother at a reception held on board the Juan Sebastian Elcano. The two also dined at a restaurant in the old town and visited some of the tourist attractions.
Before reaching Panama, Leonor passed through Peru, Chile, Brazil and Uruguay. She will continue her journey through Colombia, the Dominican Republic and the United States.
When appearing at the port in Panama, Princess Leonor continued to impress when wearing a neat white uniform, her hair tied up, and a bright smile. Princess Leonor showed a confident demeanor, disciplined manner, and naturalness, getting along well with other naval cadets.

Leonor is gradually building the image of a future female monarch who is not only strong-willed, but also approachable and sociable. This is the first real voyage that Princess Leonor has undertaken, after she began her studies at the Spanish Naval Academy since September 2024.
On board, Princess Leonor performed the same assigned duties as any other cadet, without any special treatment. She also had to wear a uniform and keep her hair neatly tied.
As the future heir to the Spanish throne, Princess Leonor will spend three years studying at Spain's military academies.
Leonor has completed a year of study at the General Military Academy and is currently spending a year at the Spanish Naval Academy. She will then spend another year studying at the Air Force Academy.

In the future, when she becomes Queen, she will be given the responsibility of Commander-in-Chief of all Spanish armed forces.
During her final years of high school, Princess Leonor studied abroad in England. She completed her secondaryeducation in 2023, before beginning her studies at military schools.
