>>> Readers are invited to watch the video of radical protesters storming the Georgian Presidential Palace.
RT reported that large-scale protests took place in the Georgian capital Tbilisi late on October 4, after the end of local elections across the country.
Many extremist protesters stormed the Presidential Palace, clashing with police while security forces used tear gas and water cannons to suppress the crowd.
Video footage showed chaotic scenes as protesters scaled the fence of the Presidential Palace and destroyed sections of it. Police later pushed the crowd back.

Clashes between protesters and police also broke out outside. Law enforcement deployed several water cannon trucks to disperse crowds trying to set up barricades on the street.
After protesters were pushed back from the Presidential Palace grounds, groups of masked men attacked nearby cafes and other street locations, smashing windows, vandalizing furniture and setting fires.
The protests follow local elections across the country. The opposition had previously announced a partial boycott of the vote and would stage a "peaceful revolution" in protest.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said initial projections showed the ruling Georgian Dream party taking the lead in the vote.
