Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were comrades: Lo Van Mung, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province; Mua A Vang, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dien Bien Dong district; Huynh Thi Thanh Hien, Deputy Chief of Office of the People's Council, People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2023, all 14/14 communes and towns of Dien Bien Dong district will have access to the national grid; the entire district will have 180/198 villages with access to the national grid (an increase of 14 villages compared to the end of 2022). The total number of households using the national grid as of December 31, 2023 is 13,085/14,362 households using electricity (reaching 91.11%). Currently, there are 10 villages in the district that have not yet invested in the national grid project.
To achieve the goal of 100% of villages having electricity by 2025, Dien Bien Dong district has received VND50 billion from Ho Chi Minh City to invest in the national grid for extremely disadvantaged villages. With the support fund, Dien Bien Dong district will invest in connecting the national grid to the last 10 villages without electricity.
Comrade Lo Van Mung thanked the special affection of the City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for Dien Bien province in general and Dien Bien Dong district in particular. At the same time, he requested the People's Committee of Dien Bien Dong district to urgently invest in implementing power projects to ensure progress, quality, and maximize post-investment efficiency.
The Hang Lia village household electricity system project (Keo Lom commune) is one of the electricity projects using support capital from Ho Chi Minh City. The project has a total investment of 8.6 billion VND, including main items: 1 35/0.4kV transformer station; 0.4kV power line with a length of 2.948km. The project is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2024.
