Groundbreaking ceremony of the project to build a green park and square at the administrative center of Duong Kinh district

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of May 12, the People's Committee of Duong Kinh District held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to build a green park and square at the District Administrative Center (Anh Dung Ward). This is an important and practical project to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Hai Phong - Heroic City (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025) and the Red Flamboyant Festival - Hai Phong 2025.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Phung Van Thanh - Member of the City Party Committee, Secretary of Duong Kinh District Party Committee; leaders of a number of city departments and branches, leaders of districts and wards, and a large number of local people.

Comrade Nguyen Minh Phuong, Chairman of Duong Kinh District People's Committee, spoke.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuong, Chairman of Duong Kinh District People's Committee affirmed: The project of building green parks and squares in the District Administrative Center is a key project, part of the Program of building parks, flower gardens and green trees in the districts in the period of 2021 - 2025, contributing to the goal of increasing the proportion of urban green trees according to the criteria of type I urban areas and towards a special urban area by 2030 with the target of public green trees must reach 6-7m2/person (the green land of the whole urban area is 10m2/person and by 2030 it will reach 15m2/person).

The project belongs to group C with a scale of 35,025 m² with main items including: granite-paved square, rest house, public toilet, green tree system, lawn, synchronous technical infrastructure... Total investment is over 52.5 billion VND, from the city and district budget.

The project will be implemented within 210 days. When completed, the park and square will be a modern green space, meeting the needs of community activities, entertainment, and sports of the people, and at the same time, it will be a landscape highlight in the overall District Administrative Center, contributing to improving the quality of urban areas and people's lives.
