Awakening the spirit of dedication of youth

(HNM) - With a tradition of dynamism, creativity, and daring to think and act, Ho Chi Minh City youth are making every effort to contribute their youth to building and developing the city through practical models, projects, and works. The goal is for youth to contribute more to the city.

Based on the practical needs of the city, Ho Chi Minh City youth always demonstrate their role by creating good and practical ways of doing things. Recently, the model of "Internship in serving the people" of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials was awarded the Ho Hao Hon Award in 2023. This model helps support administrative reform at the People's Committees of wards, communes and towns; support judicial work at the People's Courts of districts; support social work at hospitals in the city.

According to Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials' Youth Union Le Ba Hung, this is a model that solves practical problems for agencies, localities and people; creates a favorable environment for youth union members to practice their expertise and skills in volunteer activities. The model has contributed to supporting the team of cadres and civil servants in guiding procedures for people; arranging, storing, and handling records and procedures at agencies and units; contributing to building an increasingly effective state administrative apparatus and enhancing people's satisfaction and trust in the government.

In 2021, especially during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the model has brought very practical benefits. Specifically, youth union members participating in the model have carried out more than 10,000 volunteer days. Thereby, supporting the work of collecting community samples for testing of more than 52,474 people; supporting the entry of more than 16,923 records and data for large-scale testing and vaccination management; supporting the coordination of people to get vaccinated for more than 4,985 people; supporting medical declaration for more than 11,589 people... In 2022, the model has supported the handling of records and administrative procedures at 117 state administrative agencies (with more than 49,400 records of people), district-level people's courts (supporting the processing of more than 8,000 records)...

At the grassroots level, the Cau Ong Lanh Ward Youth Union (District 1) has implemented many models and solutions that have brought practical results to the locality. Through the model of "Youth Media Club", the Ward Youth Union has produced and promoted the monthly column "Bringing the Party's Resolutions into Life" of the Cau Ong Lanh Ward Party Committee; and produced many infographics to promote the Law on Military Service, the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies.

“Since mid-2020, realizing the increasing demand for using information technology on online platforms, especially during the period affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has disrupted activities, especially the propaganda activities of the Party and State's guidelines and policies to the people, I have mobilized local youth to initiate a model and it is still operating today,” said Secretary of the Cau Ong Lanh Ward Youth Union Pham Thanh Chuong.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Nguyen Thai Binh Ward Youth Union (District 1) Tran Thanh Son initiated and implemented the model "Each family has at least 1 electronic identification account". The model has guided the creation of more than 2,199 electronic identification accounts for households in the ward, reaching a rate of 96.4% (level 1). This model has been recognized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Police as a good model and innovative solution in implementing the Government's Project 06 and needs to be replicated in districts.

At a recent working session with the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen emphasized that young people must have a spirit of dedication, filter out suitable points, think of big things to do big things, starting with practical work at the unit and locality. The head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee believes that the city's youth will continue to strengthen their beliefs based on the mission and aspirations that the Party's resolutions set for the youth; continue to position themselves to see what they have done, what they have not done; think right, do right, and fulfill their roles well in each assigned position and task.
