Organizing the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 in Khanh Hoa

Many activities to honor and introduce Cham culture will take place in Khanh Hoa province to preserve and promote Cham cultural identity in the new era.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Plan No. 4625/KH-BVHTTDL on organizing the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in Khanh Hoa province in 2025. This is a large-scale cultural event, taking place for three days from October 17 to 19, 2025, with the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Cham ethnic group in the new era".

The festival aims to honor and introduce the unique traditional cultural values ​​of the Cham people to domestic and international friends. Thereby, the event contributes to promoting the image of Vietnam as a country rich in identity, unified in diversity, and at the same time demonstrates the attention of the Party and State to the work of preserving and promoting the cultural values ​​of the Cham people in the context of integration and development.

The festival brings together the participation of six provinces and cities: Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City. The main activities take place at 16/4 Square, Phan Rang Ward and Dong Hai Ward, Khanh Hoa Province.

The organizers said that the Festival will be attended by leaders of the Party and State; representatives of central ministries and branches; leaders of participating provinces; cultural and artistic managers and researchers; and a large number of Cham ethnic artisans, actors and athletes. Each group will have a maximum of 100 participants.

Within the framework of the festival, many rich programs will take place. The Opening Ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on October 17 at the April 16 Monument Square, broadcast live on VTV8 and rebroadcast in localities.

The main activities include: Mass art festival, folk song performance, folk dance, traditional musical instruments and Cham costumes on normal days, festivals, weddings; performances, reenactments of festivals, traditional cultural rituals of the Cham people. The 5,000 m² Cham cultural exhibition space introduces to people and tourists artifacts, musical instruments, costumes, brocade, handicrafts, OCOP products, and other types of recognized intangible heritage. Sports activities on this occasion include tug of war, stick pushing, men's mini football, and women's water team.

In addition, visitors can also participate in community tourism activities; view the photo exhibition "Cham ethnic people accompanying the country's development" with 300 works reflecting the attention of the Party, State and achievements of Cham people.

In addition, within the framework of the festival, there is also a workshop "Promoting the value of Cham cultural heritage in tourism development" held on the afternoon of October 17 with the participation of management agencies, cultural and scientific figures.

The 6th Cham Cultural Festival in Khanh Hoa is not only an event to honor Cham cultural identity but also an opportunity to strengthen national solidarity. The event promises to bring the public and visitors rich experiences, contributing to making Cham culture a highlight in sustainable tourism development, while continuing to spread the message of a unified Vietnam in cultural diversity.
