On December 15th, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, together with SABECO, announced a series of community programs for the Lunar New Year 2024 (Year of the Dragon) and distributed over 10,400 Tet gifts to fishermen, border guards, and coastal troops in 25 provinces and cities nationwide.

This year's program is themed: "Sharing the Lunar New Year, A Prosperous Year of the Dragon." This is part of the "Celebrating the Year of the Dragon - Abundant Blessings" campaign launched by SABECO to honor the traditional Vietnamese New Year culture, which always focuses on family and loved ones, along with the spirit of unity and reunion.

Amidst global economic uncertainties affecting Vietnam's recovery in 2023, this year's Saigon Beer community program specifically targets workers affected by job cuts, as well as fishermen in coastal areas facing difficulties due to climate change, helping to alleviate some of the burden on local authorities in preparing for Tet (Lunar New Year).

In addition, the program also presented gifts of gratitude to the border guards and island troops who have worked tirelessly day and night to protect the national territory and sovereignty .

Speaking at the program, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Ngo Van Cuong said that through the "Sharing Tet, Prosperous Year of the Dragon" program, the Central Committee of the Youth Union hopes to continue conveying the message about the nation's fine tradition of "mutual support" and the achievements that the entire Party and people have achieved during and after the Covid-19 pandemic and in 2023.

From there, the Youth Union at all levels and social organizations will continue to have more meaningful activities, accompanying disadvantaged young people, especially during the Lunar New Year, contributing to creating more motivation for young people, union members, and workers to continue striving to excel in labor and production.

"Youth Union branches at all levels regularly understand the thoughts and aspirations of their members, young people, and workers. They promote and encourage members, young people, and workers to celebrate the Lunar New Year in a thrifty and safe manner, comply with legal regulations, and return to work on time. They organize warm and joyful Lunar New Year celebrations that bear the distinctive mark of the Youth Union."

"With the activities that the two units have committed to carrying out today, we hope to spread a message of love, sharing, and mutual encouragement to overcome challenges together and welcome a brighter 2024," Mr. Ngo Van Cuong affirmed.

Accordingly, the program was implemented simultaneously from January 6, 2024 to February 5, 2024 with the participation of SABECO employees throughout the system and the support of provincial Youth Unions and local authorities in 25 provinces and cities including Bac Giang, Phu Yen and Soc Trang to distribute 10,400 Tet gifts to eligible recipients.
