Right from the beginning of the period, the Commune Party Committee issued a specialized Resolution; the Commune People's Committee strengthened the Steering Committee, Management Board, Working Group... in the direction of clearly and closely assigning tasks, attaching responsibility to each person with each criterion and each specific task. Propaganda work was deployed regularly, continuously, and flexibly in both content and form such as radio, public meetings, social networks, billboards, and slogans.

In 2024 alone, the whole commune organized 188 integrated propaganda sessions, with over 5,500 participants; broadcast more than 100 news and articles about model NTM on the commune radio. Thereby, people gradually understood that they were both beneficiaries and implementers, thereby being more proactive in contributing intellectual and material resources and supervising projects and criteria.
One of the bright spots in the construction of a model new rural area in Tan Dong commune is that the transport infrastructure, irrigation and cultural - medical - educational institutions have all been upgraded, synchronized and effectively exploited. In the period of 2023 - 2024, the commune has invested in upgrading 14 roads, with a total length of 21.5 km, with a cost of more than 11.3 billion VND. By the end of 2024, the whole commune has 42 roads that have been hardened, ensuring travel, transport of goods and economic development.
Tan Dong Commune identified rice, vegetables and cherry trees as its three main products. Of these, 13 hectares of vegetables of Tan Dong Safe Vegetable Cooperative have achieved VietGAP certification, while 33% of the commune's main agricultural products have been consumed through e-commerce, showing a positive shift in linking production and product consumption.
With the support of the Social Policy Bank of Go Cong Dong district, people have access to loans to develop production, renovate mixed gardens, build barns, and expand small businesses. Thanks to that, the poverty rate of Tan Dong commune has decreased to 0% , the number of near-poor households has decreased to 47, and the average income per capita of the commune has reached 80.39 million VND/person/year, exceeding the average of the whole district.
Not only has the economy improved, but the local cultural and social life has also improved. All schools in the area have met national standards; of which, Tan Dong Kindergarten has met level 2 standards. The grassroots health system has been invested synchronously, over 98% of people have electronic medical records, over 50% of people use online medical examination and treatment applications.
COMPETITION IS MOTIVATION
One of the fundamental factors contributing to making Tan Dong a model new-style rural commune is the effective implementation of patriotic emulation movements. In 2024, the commune exceeded 10/10 targets assigned by the district. Many outstanding targets include: State budget revenue reached 140% of the plan; health insurance coverage rate reached 97.2% (exceeding the target); disbursement of public investment capital, selection and calling of citizens for military service, crime reduction, and handling of complaints and denunciations all reached 100%; administrative reform ranked third in the district.
The emulation movement not only arouses the sense of responsibility among cadres, civil servants, and members of unions, but also spreads among all classes of people in Tan Dong commune. In 2024, the commune organized more than 160 legal propaganda sessions, attracting over 16,500 participants, and awareness of law compliance and fulfillment of civic duties was significantly improved.
Along with outstanding socio-economic results, the political system of Tan Dong commune continues to be consolidated. In 2024, 100% of the commune's cadres and civil servants completed their tasks well, without any disciplinary violations; of which, 4 comrades completed their tasks excellently, the rest completed them well. For non-professional forces, the rate of completing tasks well reached 100%.
Training and fostering of cadres is always focused on. In 2024, the commune sent 13 cadres and civil servants to participate in specialized training, updating knowledge on state management, soft skills, information technology, etc. In addition, socio-political organizations operate effectively, undertaking and implementing many models such as "Flower route", "Green Sunday", "Waste classification at source", "Optical light" ... which are highly appreciated by the people.
The Fatherland Front and mass organizations are also the bridge to bring the Party's policies and the State's policies closer to the people. From health insurance propaganda, disease prevention and control, maintaining security and order to preserving festivals and promoting cultural traditions. All contribute to creating a model new rural area - Tan Dong, which is both modern and rich in identity.

The total resources mobilized to build a model new-style rural commune in Tan Dong in the past 4 years is 176.6 billion VND, of which the people's capital contribution accounts for nearly 32%. This shows the people's trust in the right leadership and management of the local Party Committee and government.
Chairman of Tan Dong Commune People's Committee Ta Van Hieu said: "After Tan Dong Commune was recognized as a model new-style rural commune, we determined that this is not the end but a transitional step to continue to develop more comprehensively and sustainably. The locality will continue to maintain and improve the criteria, aiming for a civilized and livable commune, taking people's satisfaction as the center."
Tan Dong commune today is not only the pride of local officials and people, but also a typical model for concretizing the major policy of the Party and State on building new rural areas associated with patriotic emulation and building strong grassroots government from each commune and hamlet.
