Prosecuted two subjects for trafficking more than 4,200 packs of contraband cigarettes

HNN.VN - On June 11, the Investigation Police Agency of Hue City Police issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, prosecute the accused; and issue an order prohibiting Le Van Vu and Nguyen Thi Suong from leaving their place of residence for the act of trading in contraband goods, namely smuggled cigarettes.

Authorities seized a total of more than 4,200 packs of smuggled cigarettes.

On June 3, in front of house number 190 Ly Nam De Street (Huong Long Ward, Phu Xuan District), the Prevention and Investigation Team for Smuggling, Manufacturing, Trading of Counterfeit Goods, and Intellectual Property Infringement - Economic Police Department of the City Police in coordination with Huong Long Ward Police caught Le Van Vu (born in 1985, residing in An Hoa Ward, Phu Xuan District) driving a motorbike transporting 1,980 packs of JET brand cigarettes.

Through investigation, the authorities determined that Nguyen Thi Suong (born in 1975) was related to the case, so they continued to verify and urgently searched the residence at 11 Ly Nam De (An Hoa ward) and 4 alley 192 Ly Nam De (Huong Long ward, Phu Xuan district), the unit seized an additional 2,240 packs of cigarettes of various types: JET, HERO, ESSE.

Currently, the Hue City Police Investigation Agency is continuing to consolidate the case file to investigate and strictly handle these two subjects in accordance with the provisions of the law.
