The cold air will pull the temperature in the highlands down below 10 degrees Celsius, in the plains it will be 16-19 degrees Celsius, and in the Central region, heavy rain will return.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said on the evening of November 28 that a cold air mass is moving down to the North. It is forecasted that on the afternoon of November 30, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast region and then other places in the North.
The American Accuweather website predicts that the temperature in Hanoi tomorrow will be 21-29 degrees Celsius, and by Friday it will drop to the lowest level of 17-19 degrees Celsius. The highest point above 1,500 meters above sea level will have a temperature of 10-13 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
The central region and the North Central provinces were also affected by cold air from the night of November 30, with temperatures ranging from 16 to 19 degrees Celsius. From the night of November 30 to December 3, the southern Nghe An to Binh Dinh region had heavy rain with average amounts of 100 to 300 mm each time, with some places experiencing over 400 mm.
The meteorological agency warns that thunderstorms may be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, affecting agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damaging houses, traffic works and infrastructure. Heavy rain and flash floods may occur on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas.
In addition, from the afternoon of November 30, on land there will be strong northeast winds of level 3, coastal areas level 4-5, gusting to level 6. In the Gulf of Tonkin, there will be strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8, with waves 2-4 m high. In the northern East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago), there will be strong northeast winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, with waves 4-6 m high.
From early morning of December 1, the sea area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai and the northern part of the central East Sea will have northeast winds gradually increasing to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, with waves 2-4.5 m high.
