Specifically, this afternoon, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast region of the North; then to other places in the North, North Central and Central Central regions. Northeast wind inland is strong at level 3, coastal areas at level 4-5, gusting at level 6.
From tonight, the weather in the North and North Central regions will turn cold, with some mountainous areas in the North experiencing severe cold. During this cold spell, the lowest temperature in the North (including the capital Hanoi ) and the North Central region will generally be between 15-18 degrees, with the mountainous areas in the North experiencing 12-15 degrees, and some highland areas experiencing below 11 degrees.
Due to the influence of cold air, there will be rain in some places in the North and Thanh Hoa ; in the Northeast, there will be scattered rain and light rain from today.
For the weather in the capital Hanoi , the dry days end, from the afternoon and night there is rain and light rain, the night turns cold, the temperature begins to drop.
From December 1, when the cold air came, Hanoi's temperature dropped sharply, from 5-6 degrees compared to before, the highest level was only 21 degrees. Also today, in the 10-day weather forecast for Ho Chi Minh City (November 30-December 10), the Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that the continental cold high pressure will stabilize and then gradually weaken; around December 5 and 8, it will strengthen and weaken again.
Central region has had heavy rain for about 4 consecutive days
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from today until the morning of December 2, in the areas from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri and Binh Dinh to Khanh Hoa, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 60-150mm, some places will have over 200mm. In particular, the area from Thua Thien Hue to Quang Ngai will have heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain with rainfall of 150-250mm, some places will have over 350mm.
The meteorological agency warned that from December 2-3, in the area from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain with the amount of 70-150mm, in some places over 200mm. In the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Binh, the rain will decrease, from 10-30mm, in some places over 70mm.
In addition, in the Central Highlands, from the night of December 1-4, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally with moderate to heavy rain (rain concentrated in the East). In the Southern region, from the night of December 1-5, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.
The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that in Ho Chi Minh City, there will be little rain and lots of sunshine this week; especially from December 1-2 and December 6-7, there is a higher chance of rain, with rain concentrated in the late afternoon.
Impact of heavy rain requires precautions against the risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas; beware of heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
