(Dan Tri) - From tonight, cold air will affect many places in the North. The Hydrometeorological Agency predicts that the severe cold spell in the Northeast region may last until March 8.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that on the night of March 4 and March 5, cold air will affect the mountainous areas of the Northeast.
According to forecasts, around the night of March 5-6, the cold air will strengthen and affect other places in the Northeast and North Central regions, then affect the Northwest region and some places in the Central Central region.
According to the Hydrometeorological Agency, the temperature in the Northern region will gradually decrease from March 5. From the night of March 5, the weather in the Northern and North Central regions will turn cold, with some places experiencing severe cold.
From March 6, the mountainous areas of the Northeast will experience severe cold, while the area from Quang Binh to Hue City will turn cold around the night of March 6, according to the hydrometeorological agency.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said the lowest temperature in this cold air mass in the North is generally 12-15 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas below 8 degrees Celsius in some places; North Central region is generally 14-17 degrees Celsius; Quang Binh to Hue city is generally 16-19 degrees Celsius.
In Hanoi , from early morning on March 6, the weather turned cold, the lowest temperature in this cold air mass in the capital is commonly 13-15 degrees Celsius.
According to forecasts, due to the influence of the cold air strengthening combined with the strong current in the upper westerly wind zone, from March 5-6, the Northern and North Central regions will have scattered rain and light rain. Severe cold in the mountainous areas of the Northeast is likely to last until around March 8.
