Industrial promotion "awakens" the potential of unburnt brick production

(VLO) With the goal of promoting the production and use of unburnt construction materials, the program to support businesses in investing in advanced machinery and equipment is one of the solutions promoted by the provincial industry and trade sector in recent times. In particular, My Thuan Concrete Joint Stock Company (Tan Hoi Ward, Vinh Long City) has received support from the industrial promotion fund and achieved encouraging results in the production of unburnt bricks to supply to the market.

Every day, My Thuan Concrete Joint Stock Company produces about 8,000 tubular bricks and 11,000-12,000 tile bricks.

Promotion of unburnt brick making

Unburnt brick production technology is quite popular in Vietnam, due to the development of infrastructure construction scale, the State's incentive policies and investors' awareness of using green materials to protect the environment.

The use of unburnt bricks contributes to environmental protection, reducing clay exploitation, because unburnt bricks use recycled materials and industrial by-products, contributing to the protection of natural resources; the production process is more environmentally friendly, with less emissions and noise; uses less energy and can use renewable energy sources; unburnt bricks can be produced by pressing and sun-drying, without using much electricity.

According to the Program for Development of Non-Fired Construction Materials in Vietnam by 2030 approved by the Prime Minister , the production and use of non-fired materials to partially replace burnt clay bricks will reach 35-40% by 2025; 40-45% by 2030 in total construction materials.

The general objective of the program is: to promote the production and use of unburnt construction materials to replace burnt clay bricks, effectively use agricultural land resources, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollution; utilize waste from industries, save fuel, and bring about overall economic efficiency for the whole society.

From the industrial promotion fund and counterpart capital, My Thuan Concrete Joint Stock Company has invested in advanced machinery and equipment to produce unburnt construction materials.

In addition, investing in the production of unburnt bricks also has other benefits such as: improving the quality of construction because unburnt bricks have high durability, good load-bearing capacity and better water resistance than burnt bricks; ensuring safety for users. Unburnt bricks can be produced in many different designs and colors, meeting the diverse aesthetic needs of consumers.

Therefore, it is necessary to support investment in advanced machinery and equipment in the production of unburnt bricks for establishments to create new products, meet market demand, and reduce environmental pollution.

From that reality, the Provincial People's Committee has had policies and mechanisms to actively support businesses to increase investment in purchasing production lines, improve productivity and output of unburnt materials, and supply them to the market.

Implementing the 2024 industrial promotion plan, Vinh Long Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting Center has proactively deployed consulting and industrial promotion support activities for establishments operating in the field of non-fired construction materials production.

Production of unburnt bricks is a leading trend that brings many practical benefits to the environment, consumer market and manufacturers in the context of developing long-term and sustainable construction material sources.

Grasping the advantages that unburnt bricks bring, along with the supporting industrial promotion policy, My Thuan Concrete Joint Stock Company has boldly invested in putting unburnt brick production technology into operation, gradually diversifying product types to meet customer needs.

Accordingly, implementing the Project "Supporting the application of advanced machinery and equipment in the production of unburnt bricks", in 2024, My Thuan Concrete Joint Stock Company invested in advanced machinery and equipment to produce unburnt construction materials with a total investment of more than 650 million VND from industrial promotion support and the company's counterpart capital.

Mr. Nguyen Phan Hoang Huy - representative of the sales department of My Thuan Concrete Joint Stock Company said that in order to meet the increasing demand for unburnt bricks in the market, along with prioritizing "green materials" that do not affect the environment, the company has invested in machinery to produce unburnt bricks and unburnt bricks.

The results achieved in the company's production situation have contributed to affirming that the production of unburnt bricks helps improve economic efficiency, reduce production costs, contribute to local economic development, especially in areas with abundant raw materials, in line with the trend of sustainable development.

Sharing about the effectiveness of the project when the company applied advanced machinery and equipment to the production of unburnt bricks, Mr. Nguyen Phan Hoang Huy said that thanks to expanding the scale of unburnt brick production, it has created more jobs for many workers, meeting the construction progress of the province's projects.

In particular, it improves productivity and product quality, does not take much time or raw materials for burning, does not emit emissions, and helps protect the environment in the face of increasingly scarce natural clay resources.

Accordingly, after putting into use the unburnt brick pressing system, it has created jobs for 10 workers in and outside the province.

Along with that, the fact that machines support 70-80% of labor has contributed to increasing productivity, reducing costs and effort for manual labor, reducing production time, and making products of consistent quality and high precision.

Every day, My Thuan Concrete Joint Stock Company produces about 8,000 tubular bricks and 11,000-12,000 tile bricks, with the drying time being 7 days. The raw materials for producing unburnt bricks at the company are mainly crushed stone, cement, and gravel mixed in a certain ratio.

Currently, the company's products are distributed in localities stretching from Long An to Ca Mau provinces. In particular, unburnt brick products are mainly concentrated in the home market.

“In the coming time, the company plans to continue to promote market development, invest in more advanced machinery and equipment to increase the production capacity of unburnt construction materials, and in the immediate future, expand production of 19x19x39cm bricks to meet market demand,” said Mr. Nguyen Phan Hoang Huy.

According to the Vinh Long Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting, the implementation of the project "Supporting the application of advanced machinery and equipment in the production of unburnt bricks" at My Thuan Concrete Joint Stock Company is really necessary to help encourage the development of the unburnt brick industry, improve product quality, protect the environment and public health.

Pursuant to Decision No. 1964 dated October 4, 2024 of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province on approving the second phase of the local industrial promotion project in 2024 and the Project "Supporting the application of advanced machinery and equipment in the production of unburnt bricks at My Thuan Concrete Joint Stock Company", the total local industrial promotion fund in 2024 to support the company is 250 million VND.
