Smart medical kiosks are self-service kiosks that accept patients for medical examinations and treatment using Citizen Identification Cards (CCCD)/VNeID, utilizing biometrics with features such as: registering for medical examinations and treatment via CCCD card authentication/facial recognition; automatically linking social insurance information based on the CCCD number; and creating bank accounts for cashless payment of medical expenses. Citizens can register for medical examinations and pay hospital fees quickly and easily; the patient's chip-embedded CCCD information and facial data are stored throughout the registration and examination process.
At the same time, doctors and nurses can proactively receive information and track patients' medical history more quickly, easily, and conveniently, helping to reduce waiting times in line for examinations.

According to Vu Cao Cuong, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Health, the department's leadership has requested units to research and register for the implementation of smart medical kiosk models to contribute to the digital transformation of the healthcare sector and promote cashless payments in hospitals. To effectively implement this model, units need to prepare adequate facilities and equipment to ensure smooth system operation; and provide specific professional requirements for system development based on the realities of each unit.
In particular, after implementation, it is necessary to continue checking, monitoring, and evaluating the effectiveness of the model in order to make timely adjustments.
