Liverpool are holding a big advantage in the Premier League.

According to Opta 's supercomputer, the probability of Liverpool (with 70 points) winning the Premier League this season is currently at 99.13%. Predictions show that the team will finish the season with around 89 points. Meanwhile, Arsenal (58 points) are predicted to finish the season with only 77 points.

Opta 's analysis is based on the fixture list, the difficulty of the opposition and Arsenal's poor form towards the end of the season. With the Gunners yet to recover and struggling in the Champions League, it is unlikely they will be able to pull off a miraculous comeback.

Arsenal could even fall short in the last nine games, giving Liverpool the chance to win the title early. Liverpool are currently 12 points ahead of Arsenal in the standings. According to calculations from Opta , Arsenal are expected to earn only 19 more points in the remaining nine games.

This means Liverpool only need 8 more points to secure the championship. Even if Arsenal win all 9 rounds, coach Arne Slot's team only needs to win 16 more points in the last 9 matches to decide their own fate and officially be crowned champions of England.

After the international break, Liverpool will return to the Premier League with two important matches against Everton (April 3) and Fulham (April 6). Arsenal will also face Fulham (April 2) and Everton (April 5).

Opta also predicts Arsenal to finish second, with Nottingham Forest expected to finish third. Manchester City, despite their poor form, are still predicted to make the top four, while Newcastle United are fifth.

The Premier League will have five Champions League spots next season thanks to the performance of English clubs in Europe this season. Chelsea, contrary to expectations, are predicted not to get a Champions League ticket.
