Level 1 aviation security control during the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just issued a decision to apply level 1 enhanced aviation security control measures at airports, airfields, air traffic service providers, airlines, and aviation service providers during the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Airport authorities are responsible for notifying the decision content to aviation service providers and foreign airlines operating at airports.

During the period of applying the level 1 enhanced aviation security control measures, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires airport authorities, Vietnam Airports Corporation, Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation and Vietnamese airlines to report on the situation of aviation security assurance work between 14:00 and 15:00 every day.

In case of need to verify and clarify the incident (if any), the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam will directly contact the agencies and units.

In case of an unexpected incident, agencies and units are required to report immediately upon discovery of the incident according to the regulations of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on information and reporting of violations of aviation security regulations.

According to regulations, airports implementing level 1 aviation security control measures will have to increase the number of aviation security personnel and guards on duty in restricted areas; check people with handheld metal detectors and visually check people, objects and vehicles entering restricted areas of the airport.

Increase interviews and verification of personal documents when passengers check in for flights and during aviation security checks; randomly visually check passengers who have passed through the gate without an alarm; visually check carry-on and checked baggage through X-ray machines without any suspicious images; limit people and vehicles operating in public areas of passenger terminals...

Unaccompanied checked baggage will be visually inspected, after being screened before being loaded onto the plane.

The funeral of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, will be held as a State funeral on July 25 and 26, 2024.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong's coffin was laid to rest at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi .
The funeral of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong will be held at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi, starting from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on July 25, 2024 and from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on July 26, 2024.
The memorial service for comrade Nguyen Phu Trong will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 26, 2024 at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi.
Funeral at 3:00 p.m. the same day at Mai Dich Cemetery, Hanoi city.
