Control fishing vessels and fishermen information on VNeID application

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has just sent a document to the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (Ministry of Public Security), the Border Guard Command and Viettel Group on putting into use the fishing vessel control system and fishermen information on the VNeID application.

The document stated that, implementing the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 198/CD-TTg dated October 17, 2025 on the peak of combating IUU fishing and promoting sustainable development of the fisheries sector, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance) in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense (Border Guard) and Viettel have completed the connection and data sharing between the specialized fishing vessel management system for fisheries and the fishing vessel management system of the Border Guard, contributing to the comprehensive digitalization of fishing vessel management.

According to Notice 620/TB-VPCP dated November 14, 2025 of the Government Office , the Prime Minister requested to complete and put into use the application for managing fishing vessels and fishermen information on VNeID. To meet this progress, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requested units to coordinate in implementing a number of tasks:

The Department of Administrative Police for Social Order presides over and coordinates with the Border Guard and Viettel to deploy the connection of the VNeID application with the fishing vessel management system of the Border Guard.

The Department of Administrative Management of Social Order and the Border Guard Command will send technical staff to coordinate with the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance to ensure the completion of connection and put the application into operation before November 21, 2025.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment affirmed that putting the system into use on VNeID will create a unified and modern management channel, increase the effectiveness of monitoring fishing vessels, support law enforcement at sea and meet the requirements of combating IUU fishing as recommended by the EC. The Ministry also requested relevant units to actively coordinate to complete the project on schedule.
