Creating directions and space for the development of literature and art in the new era

Speaking at the Conference, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized: The Great Victory of Spring 1975 was one of the brilliant milestones in the history of building and defending the country of our people, a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism, the pinnacle of Vietnamese spirit and intelligence, bringing our country into a new era, an era of peace, unity, and the whole country moving towards socialism. Literature, art and the team of artists - soldiers of the Party's Cultural and Ideological Front, played a great role and contributed to making those great victories.

Over the past 50 years, under the leadership of the Party, the steadfastness of innovation, creativity, and enthusiasm of the entire nation, with the core and pioneering team of intellectuals and artists, we are very proud to have a modern, unified literature and art, accepting the positive aspects and quintessence of the nation, literature and art from all regions of the country, the quintessence of international culture and becoming a literature and art following a socialist orientation; at the same time, in line with the people's hearts, clearly expressing the aspirations, will, spirit, and wishes of the people, for the cause of innovation and development of the country after the war.

Emphasizing the highlights of Vietnamese literature and art over the past 50 years, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that the country's literature and art have developed in the right direction, continuing to make important contributions to the revolutionary cause. Especially in recent years, we have carried out the renovation process, the team of artists has shown confidence in the Party's cultural and artistic guidelines, closely following the reality of life, having a strong desire for innovation, contributing a positive voice in many issues, especially cultural revival, human development, building and defending the Fatherland.

"The country's artists are always a reliable force of the Party, the State and the people. Literature and art have made important contributions, creating the soft power of Vietnamese culture in the process of the country's innovation, integration and increasingly deep development towards the world," emphasized the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission.

Arousing the desire to contribute and the creative capacity of artists

Acknowledging and appreciating the presentations at the Conference, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission pointed out the need to focus on improving the Party's leadership capacity, associated with strong innovation in thinking and appropriate and effective leadership methods to create directions and spaces for the development of literature and art. Party committees, party organizations, cadres, party members, artists and people of all walks of life need to understand more clearly and deeply the position, role and mission of literature and art in the new era, especially paying attention to the specificity of literature and art, respecting and ensuring the right to freedom of creation, strongly arousing and developing the desire to contribute and the creative capacity of artists.

In addition, it is necessary to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, promote the institutionalization of the Party's policies, viewpoints, tasks and solutions on literature and art, review, build and continue to perfect the legal system that is lacking in this field. Outdated, inadequate and inappropriate regulations, regimes and policies must be resolutely eliminated, creating a favorable corridor and unleashing the potential for creative development.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia informed about organizing research and promulgating a national strategy on building literature and art in the new era, the era of national development; well implementing planning, training, fostering, and arranging a team of leaders, managers, and consultants; fundamentally and comprehensively innovating policies on treatment and honor in the field of literature and art.

At the same time, continue to strongly reform the regime and policies for literary and artistic activities and artists; the regime of funding and ordering for literary and artistic works; create all favorable conditions for artists to deeply penetrate the vibrant reality of the country; accompany and be attached to the creative labor of the people. Promote digital transformation, enhance the application of scientific and technological achievements in the creation, production, dissemination and preservation of literary and artistic works; focus on building and developing the market and synchronous, sustainable and healthy literary and artistic products and services to contribute to the development of the cultural industry. Increase State investment resources in conjunction with promoting socialization, creating a breakthrough in attracting and allocating resources for literary and artistic development.

Along with that, it is necessary to promote the strong development of the field of theoretical research and literary and artistic criticism; focus on building a system of modern humanistic Vietnamese literary and artistic theories, combining theory and practice smoothly; persistently implementing creative freedom along with freedom of criticism; enhancing the scientific, combative and persuasive nature of theoretical and critical work.

The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission stated that promoting international cooperation and exchange in literature and art, continuing to strongly promote the soft power of culture; promoting the internal strength of national literature and art as a foundation, with long-term thinking and vision; enhancing proactive coordination among agencies in the political system to develop, deploy and implement strategies to promote Vietnamese literature and art to the world; effectively evaluating and selecting foreign literary and artistic works to bring into our country.

To effectively implement the Central's policy, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia requested to continue to reorganize, innovate methods, and improve the quality of operations of central and local literary and artistic organizations, ensuring professional streamlining, efficient, effective, and efficient operations.

Stating that our country is entering a new era, an era of national growth, with opportunities and challenges intertwined, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission said that the Vietnamese artists need to continue to stand shoulder to shoulder, join forces to carry out the noble mission and heavy but glorious responsibility towards the Fatherland and the people. Through their works, the artists are the ones who have planted the seeds of beauty, compassion and noble humanity, preserving and fanning the flame of patriotic tradition, national pride, confidence, and the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.

Cultivating beauty, compassion and patriotic traditions

At the Conference, delegates listened to presentations on the development of the Party's theory on literature and art over the past 50 years; some outstanding marks of 50 years of building and developing literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City; literature and art on the armed forces and revolutionary war contributing to orienting ideology, fostering patriotism, fostering revolutionary qualities and ideals for the young generation; 50 years of Vietnamese literature, achievements and trends; developing the cultural industry in Vietnam from the practical perspective of the film industry; perfecting institutions and policies on literature and art after 50 years of national reunification...

The delegates focused on affirming the achievements and results of Vietnamese literature and art 50 years after the country's reunification; proposing and recommending policies and guidelines for the development of the country's literature and art in the new period. From there, Party committees, authorities, localities and units continue to raise awareness and responsibility for the position, role and importance of literature and art; encouraging and motivating artists to continue to promote their talents, intelligence, solidarity and unity, enthusiastically creating many works of high ideological and artistic value, contributing more to the construction and development of advanced Vietnamese culture, literature and art, imbued with national identity, contributing worthily to the cause of national construction and development in the new era, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
