Completing the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Son La province

On the afternoon of November 21, the People's Council of Son La province, term XV, 2021 - 2026, held the 37th thematic session to review and decide on contents under its authority according to law.

At the meeting, the People's Council of Son La province elected Mr. Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; elected Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Head of the Economic - Budget Committee, Provincial People's Council to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, term XV, 2021 - 2026; at the same time, elected member of the Provincial People's Committee, term XV, 2021 - 2026 for Mr. Nguyen Van Bac, Chief Inspector of the province.

Also at the Session, the People's Council of Son La province unanimously voted to pass 4 resolutions, including: Supplementing the list of land plots to conduct bidding to select investors to implement investment projects using land in Son La province in 2025 (phase 6); Allocating additional targeted funding from the central budget to the local budget in Decision No. 2332/QD-TTg dated October 22, 2025 of the Prime Minister; Adjusting and assigning the state budget expenditure estimate for 2025 to the provincial Newspaper, Radio and Television; Regulating the expenditure level and time to receive financial support for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels, term 2026-2031.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Son La province emphasized that, promoting the tradition of solidarity and responsibility of the Provincial People's Council, he and the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council will inherit the experience of the People's Councils of previous terms, continue to innovate working methods; improve the quality of supervision and decision on important local issues; strengthen contact activities with voters, receive citizens, listen to opinions of voters and people; promote the application of digital transformation in the activities of the People's Council. At the same time, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council closely coordinates with the People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and relevant agencies and units to effectively bring the resolutions of the Provincial People's Council into life.

Mr. Lo Minh Hung noted that there is not much time left from now until the end of 2025 session, so he requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee to carefully prepare for the regular session in 2025 and the conference to summarize the term of the Provincial People's Council; proactively prepare for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, ensuring that the election in the locality takes place democratically, in accordance with the law, safely, transparently and achieves high results.
