After landing at the airport, the hearse carrying the coffin of former President Tran Duc Luong traveled along National Highway 1A through Nui Thanh district ( Quang Nam province) and many districts, cities and towns of Quang Ngai province before arriving at his hometown cemetery (Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town).
Attending the funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong were Politburo members: Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the National Assembly; Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; Nguyen Hoa Binh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President; Tran Quang Phuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Bui Thi Quynh Van, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee... and many leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front; international delegations; revolutionary veterans, intellectuals, representatives of agencies, departments, branches, organizations, unions, religions, a large number of people from all walks of life, and the family of former President Tran Duc Luong.



Many people from all walks of life in Quang Ngai province, officers and soldiers of the armed forces were present at the airport and along National Highway 1A to welcome and send off the outstanding son of his homeland to his final resting place.
Mr. Le Van Tuyet (retired cadre, residential group No. 1, Mo Duc town, Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai province), shared: "Having met former President Tran Duc Luong many times before, I saw that he was a high-ranking leader of the Party and State but was always close to and concerned about the lives of the people, and devoted his whole life to the country and the people. I am here with the wish to say goodbye to the outstanding son of the nation and the heroic homeland of Quang Ngai for the last time."



At exactly 3 p.m., the funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong to his final resting place was solemnly held at his hometown cemetery - Pho Khanh commune. Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, Head of the Funeral Organizing Committee, presided over the funeral.

After the Honor Guard performed the burial ceremony, leaders of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, Vietnam Fatherland Front and Quang Ngai province, along with his family, dropped the first handfuls of soil, sending former President Tran Duc Luong to his final resting place.

In infinite grief, leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front; comrades, compatriots, and family observed a minute of silence and walked around the grave to bid farewell to comrade Tran Duc Luong.
On behalf of the Funeral Organizing Committee and the family of former President Tran Duc Luong, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh thanked the leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, veteran revolutionaries, representatives of departments, ministries, branches, localities, armed forces units, compatriots, comrades, leaders of the Party, State, Government of countries, diplomatic delegations, international friends... for expressing their deep feelings and condolences, coming to pay their respects, sending wreaths, sending condolences, attending the funeral, memorial service, burial and seeing off comrade Tran Duc Luong to his final resting place.
