Up to now, GAET has gone through 60 years of construction and development. Throughout that journey, the "soldiers on the economic front" have constantly innovated, gradually asserting their brand and reputation, fulfilling military and defense tasks, contributing to building a modern, dual-use defense industry to become the spearhead of the national industry.

Industrial explosives trading is identified as one of the two key political tasks of GAET, making the name of a defense enterprise with domestic and foreign partners. Currently, GAET is the only unit of the army and one of two units in the country that is permitted by the State to trade industrial explosives to serve the national economy with the following tasks: Trading explosives, explosive accessories, Transporting industrial explosives and goods, warehouse services, using industrial explosives for blasting tasks, complete blasting at traffic works, irrigation, hydropower, mineral exploitation of stone mines to serve cement production, construction materials for units permitted to use explosives nationwide.

With a long tradition and experience, over the years, GAET's industrial explosives business has always developed steadily, contributing greatly to the completion of key national projects.

GAET has carried out blasting and used industrial explosives at traffic works, irrigation works, hydroelectric works, mineral mines, stone mines serving cement and construction material production for which the Corporation won the bid to provide industrial blasting services. Providing services on industrial explosives and equipment, chemicals for the oil and gas industry, providing consulting services, monitoring the effects of blasting, vibration and geological disasters...

Over the years, GAET has created trust and made its mark in key national projects such as: Hai Van Pass tunnel, Son La hydropower plant, Dong Nai 3 hydropower plant, Dong Nai 4 hydropower plant, Song Tranh - Quang Nam hydropower plant, Serepok 3 hydropower plant, Buon Kuop - Dak Lak hydropower plant, Ho Chi Minh trail... One of the things that makes the GAET brand is to pay special attention to improving the quality of services, meeting the needs of customers before, during and after sales.

With constant efforts to improve, GAET's output is always higher than the previous year, about more than 40,000 tons of explosives/year. In 2022, GAET consumed nearly 48,000 tons of explosives, with revenue reaching more than 2,400 billion VND, completing 114.16% of the yearly plan. In 2021, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, GAET Corporation still exceeded the industrial explosives consumption output plan, reaching 44,200 tons (up 5% compared to 2020).

In recent years, the Corporation has also actively developed the market, expanded cooperation, joint ventures, associations, and exported industrial explosives to Laos and some other markets to promote industrial explosives business activities, contributing to maintaining and preserving defense industrial production capacity.

After the Southern and Central Explosives branches came into operation, in addition to maintaining the market, market share, and traditional customers, business units have promoted initiative, actively grasped and approached new customers.

Not satisfied with what has been achieved, GAET is expanding its supply and consumption of industrial explosives day by day. The Corporation has expanded its industrial explosives services, such as drilling and blasting services, complete blasting; seismic measurement, blasting vibration, equipment and chemicals for the Oil and Gas industry... With a creative, proactive mindset along with modern technical solutions requiring high-tech technical content such as underwater blasting..., GAET's blasting and complete drilling and blasting services have been highly appreciated by customers, creating a great resonance in the domestic and regional markets.

In the context of scarce raw materials for explosives production, GAET has proactively overcome difficulties, actively sought sources, ensured timely supply of industrial explosives to customers, and maintained the market. The more difficult the situation, the more GAET shows the spirit of soldiers on the economic front as a regular, elite, modern force, soldiers with the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" with "iron discipline" organization have, are and will continue to write heroic pages of history in the future, like the saying "Fire tests gold, hardship tests strength".
