Krong Buk district is located in the Northeast of Dak Lak province, 60km from Buon Ma Thuot city center along National Highway 14, with a total natural area of 35,767.0 hectares, with a population of 66,295, with 07 commune administrative units including the communes: Cu Ne, Cu Pong, Ea Sin, Chu Kbo, Ea Ngai, Pong Drang and Tan Lap with 106 villages and hamlets (42 hamlets of ethnic minorities).

The district has 05 potential scenic spots including: Ea Sup Stream, about 12 km from Ea Sin Commune People's Committee, bordering Cu Mgar District; Ea Bro Waterfall, located 04 km from Ea Sin Commune People's Committee; Ea Nur Water Wharf, Pong Drang Commune, associated with the water wharf worshiping festival of the Ede ethnic group; Stone Stream, Hamlet 8, Ea Ngai Commune, located on Provincial Road 8; Dray Drak Waterfall, Khal Village, Cu Pong Commune, about 20m high.
In addition to natural potential, the district also has cultural potential, which is the diversity of ethnic groups (14 ethnic groups including Kinh, Ede, Tay, Nung, Muong, Xo Dang, Gia Rai, Dao, Hoa, Kho Mu, Man, Cao Lan, Thai, San Chi) creating cultural richness, especially the traditional culture of local ethnic minorities with long house culture, festival culture, wine culture associated with gong culture; traditional occupations (weaving, brocade weaving, making musical instruments...). Continuing to implement the Tourism Development Plan in the district for the period 2016-2020, in the first 6 months of 2020, the Steering Committee for Tourism Development of Krong Buk district directed the Department of Culture and Information of the district to organize propaganda and promote the image of the locality to call for investment in tourism development in the district, specifically as follows:

From January 2020 to June 2020, the District People's Committee organized performances and restoration of the Festival to preserve the traditional cultural values of local ethnic minorities: organized performances and restoration of the Water Wharf Worship Ceremony in Ea Nur village, Pong Drang commune; organized the Fun and Entertainment - Singing Festival program in Ea Sin commune, Krong Buk district to promote the image and tourism potential of the locality; at the same time, create unique cultural tourism products to serve the people and tourists. Continue to disseminate and implement the Law on Tourism, documents of all levels, ministries, central and local branches on tourism so that individuals, businesses and people know and implement; Thoroughly implement the contents of Plan No. 124/KH-UBND, dated November 3, 2017 of the District People's Committee on tourism promotion for the period 2017-2020; Plan to implement Resolution No. 03-NQ/TU, dated January 6, 2016 of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee on promoting and improving the effectiveness of tourism promotion, investment, trade and services, period 2016-2020; Plan No. 135/KH-UBND, dated November 27, 2017 of the District People's Committee on implementing Program No. 25-CTr/HU, dated October 6, 2017 of Krong Buk District Party Committee on implementing Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW, dated January 16, 2017 of the Politburo on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector.
Krong Buk has known how to take advantage of its potential strengths to develop tourism, with the attention of the Party Committee, the government and the agencies, departments and branches of the province and district, so the work of propaganda, promotion and calling for investment in tourism development has been fully and promptly implemented; State management resources on tourism have been regularly trained, creating all favorable conditions to support businesses to be confident and secure in investing in tourism development; The work of propaganda and promotion of tourism development has been more frequent and stricter. However, the development of tourism in the district still faces many difficulties, the work of calling for investment has not brought about efficiency, many businesses only focus on investing in areas such as: construction, food services, purchasing and processing of agricultural products without investing in exploiting tourism potential. Tourism promotion activities face many difficulties in accessing and effectively promoting national tourism promotion programs for localities. The effectiveness of attracting investment is very limited, and investors in the tourism sector have not been attracted.

To carry out the task of developing tourism in the last 6 months of 2020, the district continues to promote tourism propaganda and promotion associated with cultural events, festivals, and sports in the area. Continue to focus on preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in the district (especially gong culture: opening classes to teach gong playing, gong tuning, making traditional musical instruments, etc.). Promote calling for businesses and investors to invest in exploiting potential tourism resources in the district, while at the same time implementing well the policies to encourage and support investment of the state and locality to call for and attract social investment in tourism development. Prioritize support for community tourism development projects. Strengthening propaganda to raise awareness among officials and people about the position and role of the tourism industry in local socio-economic development as well as preserving and promoting local cultural values, taking cultural values as the basis and driving force along with natural potentials for effective tourism development. Continuing to strengthen the Party's leadership and improve the State's management capacity for tourism activities in order to effectively perform the leadership and direction functions to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies and laws of the State.
