Opening of the Vietnamese Language Exchange Contest for preschool children in ethnic minority areas of Dak Lak province

On the morning of April 25, the Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese Language Exchange Contest for preschool children in ethnic minority areas of Dak Lak province, school year 2024-2025.

The contest had the participation of 15 teams with about 150 contestants who are officials, managers, preschool teachers and 5-6 year old preschool children (born in 2019) of ethnic minorities from 15 Departments of Education and Training of districts, towns and cities in the province.

The teams go through 3 rounds of competition: Greeting (introduce in Vietnamese about the team members, the unit, the typical cultural features of the nation and locality; introduce the coordination between the school, family and community in nurturing, caring for and educating preschool children); Talent (use Vietnamese to perform a talent performance on topics suitable for preschool age); Knowledge (answer multiple choice questions about the content of the fields that children have learned in the current Preschool Education Program).

Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Luu Tien Quang delivered the opening speech of the contest.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Luu Tien Quang emphasized that Vietnamese is not only a communication tool, but also a bridge of knowledge, an important foundation for preschool children to develop comprehensively in intelligence, language and social skills. Especially for ethnic minority children, developing Vietnamese from preschool level plays a key role in helping them confidently embark on their future learning journey.

The Vietnamese Language Exchange Contest for preschool children in ethnic minority areas of Dak Lak province, school year 2024-2025 is not only a useful and practical playground for children to demonstrate their ability to use Vietnamese through speech, stories, songs, games... but also an opportunity for teachers to share experiences, together find effective teaching methods, close and suitable for children in ethnic minority areas.

Through the contest, it aims to promote and educate children to preserve the cultural identity of the nation and locality; strengthen Vietnamese for ethnic minority preschool children, contribute to developing communication skills in Vietnamese, develop language, social emotions, help children be bold and confident in communication; create a premise for children to be ready to enter grade 1; promote and raise awareness of parents and the community, strengthen Vietnamese for ethnic minority children in preschools; contribute to assessing the current status of the quality of implementation of the Project "Strengthening preparation of Vietnamese for preschool children and primary school students in ethnic minority areas based on the children's mother tongue" in the period of 2021-2025.
