 At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Su informed that by October 30, 2025, Ca Mau province has 5,230 fishing vessels; of which, 1,942 vessels have the longest length of 15m or more - the group that must install a voyage monitoring device (VMS). Currently, the province no longer has "03 no" vessels; 100% of fishing vessels have installed VMS devices.
 Aquatic product output in the first 10 months of the year reached 300,246 tons, reaching 83.32% of the plan. The province has 03 type II fishing ports, namely Song Doc, Rach Goc and Ganh Hao, which have been announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment as a list of designated fishing ports for confirmation and certification of aquatic product origin, and 01 type III fishing port, Cai Doi Vam, which is qualified for fishing vessels operating from offshore areas to dock; there are 14 border control stations and 16 mobile inspection and control posts.
 In recent times, Ca Mau province has achieved many positive results in the fight against IUU fishing. Management and control of fishing vessels, monitoring of journeys and handling of violations have been strengthened, contributing to effective deterrence; propaganda and dissemination of laws have been promoted, raising fishermen's awareness of the consequences of IUU fishing and related legal regulations.

 Based on the achieved results, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Su emphasized: The entire political system of Ca Mau province is resolutely taking action, making focused efforts to deploy many measures together with the whole country to remove the "yellow card" in IUU fishing, aiming to regain prestige and sustainably develop the province's fisheries industry.
 Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien highly appreciated the achievements and efforts of Ca Mau province in the journey to withdraw the "yellow card" in recent times.
 In the spirit of being proactive during the peak period, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien requested Ca Mau province to focus on strengthening the management and control of fishing fleets, especially those at high risk of violating foreign waters; and to strictly handle fishing vessels with expired licenses and lost signals. Review, update, and complete the database of fishing vessels in the area after merging administrative boundaries; and implement synchronous and strict management according to the provisions of the Fisheries Law.

 Organize strict inspection and supervision at designated fishing ports, especially the stage of confirming and certifying the origin of aquatic products; absolutely do not allow the legalization of the origin of illegally exploited seafood. Strengthen propaganda and mobilize fishermen to comply with legal regulations, raise awareness of the consequences of IUU violations on the reputation and economic benefits of the Vietnamese seafood industry. Prepare full documents and evidence to serve the inspection team of the European Commission (EC) in the coming time, affirming the determination of the locality and the whole country to remove the IUU "yellow card".
 Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien also requested the People's Committee of Ca Mau province to continue to pay attention and direct more resolutely, considering the fight against IUU fishing as a key and regular political task; at the same time, report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on difficulties and problems for timely resolution, ensuring the achievement of the Government's common goals.
 Immediately after the working session with the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Su directed relevant departments, branches and units to continue to closely follow the assigned tasks in the spirit of "6 clear"; in which, it is necessary to develop a plan with a clear and specific implementation roadmap for each unit and individual.
 Noting a number of tasks that must be focused on in the coming time, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Su requested units and localities to continue to do a good job of propaganda and dissemination throughout the entire political system, mobilizing the drastic participation of Party committees and authorities at all levels; this must be considered an important political responsibility, and many solutions must be focused on to implement during peak times. At the same time, change the awareness and correct views of fishermen about fishing, with prerequisites according to legal regulations.
 The Department of Agriculture and Environment continues to prepare well for the preliminary review of the implementation of Directive 32 of the Secretariat, the Directive on the protection of aquatic resources of the two provinces of Ca Mau (old) and Bac Lieu (old). In particular, it sets out key tasks to be carried out after the preliminary review.
 Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Su emphasized that the functional sectors continue to perform well the work of managing fishing vessels; thoroughly handle fishing vessels that have not installed VMS, track fishing vessels with expired licenses, assign officers to monitor fishing vessels on the system, regularly update the inspection results of working groups on the common monitoring software, promptly handle unidentified fishing vessels, propose policies to convert occupations in the work of managing fishing vessels. In addition, strengthen inspection, control, and statistics of output of private fishing ports; promote the work of handling violating fishing vessels to create deterrence.
