Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2025 contributes to positioning the image of the capital as friendly and attractive

The festival takes place from November 7 to 9, 2025 at the Hanoi Museum, with a colorful art space, combining tradition and modernity. The highlight is the opening ceremony and the special art program "Hanoi Ao Dai - Shining the quintessence of heritage" on the evening of November 7, conveying the message of transforming the image of Ao Dai from a "cultural ambassador" to a " tourism ambassador", linking heritage with sustainable tourism development.

In the Hanoi Museum, dozens of booths will be set up to display collections, Ao Dai accessories and tourism products from famous designers and brands from three regions, creating an attractive experience space. Visitors can admire, try on and take souvenir photos in a decorative setting inspired by the autumn colors of Hanoi - both solemn and intimate, full of culture.

This year's festival also brings a series of rich activities, spreading love for the Vietnamese ao dai. Highlights include the children's ao dai show "I love Hanoi", bringing the innocent and pure breath of Hanoi's childhood; the final round of the design contest "Ao dai - Connecting heritage" - where young talents introduce creative designs based on traditional values; and the ao dai parade around Hoan Kiem Lake on November 8, recreating the procession of the Trach Xa sewing village's ancestors, combined with the Bach Hoa pedestrian program with the participation of more than 1,000 people and tourists in ao dai and traditional costumes, creating a brilliant scene in the center of the capital.

Along with that, the performance program “Women of the Capital Integration and Development” organized by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Hanoi Women’s Union, gathered 350 women wearing colorful Ao Dai, singing in harmony the melody “Hanoi, Faith and Hope” and “Ao Dai Dance”. This is not only an artistic performance, but also a tribute to the beauty, bravery and integration spirit of Vietnamese women in the new era.

To increase the attractiveness, Hanoi Department of Tourism also organizes the “Touching Autumn in Hanoi” experience tour by double-decker bus, for tourists wearing Ao Dai to stroll through famous landmarks and capture the autumn moments of Hanoi with pictures. This activity contributes to promoting the image of the capital as “Safe – Friendly – Quality – Attractive” to domestic and foreign tourists.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Nguyen Tran Quang emphasized: “Ao dai is a costume closely associated with the history of the nation, becoming a solemn national costume, a cultural symbol of the Vietnamese people and a 'tourism ambassador' introducing the image of Vietnam to international friends. For Hanoi, the ao dai also carries the elegance and antiquity of a thousand years of civilization, blending with the modern beauty of a capital that is strongly integrating.”

After 4 years of organization, the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival has become a cultural event widely welcomed by the public, spreading the love of Ao Dai to many people in society, while contributing to promoting Ao Dai as a unique tourist gift product for international visitors.

With elaborate preparations, grand scale and rich content, the 2025 Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival promises to bring a unique cultural space, where the Ao Dai continues to shine as a symbol of Vietnamese beauty.
