Meeting with former members of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Executive Committee through the periods

On the afternoon of April 22, the Standing Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee held a meeting with former members of the Provincial Party Committee from various periods to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Comrades Nguyen Dinh Trung - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Huynh Thi Chien Hoa - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; and Nguyen Tuan Ha - Standing Vice Chairman in charge of the Provincial People's Committee co-chaired the conference.

At the conference, delegates heard Comrade Nguyen Thuong Hai – Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department – ​​report on the results of continuing to implement Resolution No. 18/NQ-TW, dated October 25, 2027, of the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on some issues regarding the continued reform and restructuring of the political system's organizational apparatus to be streamlined, effective, and efficient, and the restructuring of commune-level and provincial-level administrative units.

Comrade Nguyen Tuan Ha – Standing Vice Chairman in charge of the Provincial People's Committee – also provided information on the socio -economic development and national defense and security situation in the province in 2024 and the first quarter of 2025.

Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2025 alone, the province's socio-economic situation continued to develop; the economic growth rate in the quarter reached 6.5%, higher than the province's projected growth scenario; and the size of the economy continued to maintain a good growth momentum.

Compared to the same period last year, total retail sales of goods and services reached VND 29,174.8 billion, an increase of 9.93%; state budget revenue in the province is estimated at VND 3,180 billion, an increase of 47%, equivalent to 40.47% of the central government's budget estimate and 33.3% of the provincial People's Council's budget estimate. Agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production continued to develop stably. In particular, the activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Victory of Buon Ma Thuot and the liberation of Dak Lak province, and the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025, took place in March 2025, attracting a large number of tourists to the province and boosting the development of service industries.

Social welfare work, care for war veterans, poverty reduction, and the implementation of programs to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing continue to receive attention and are promptly carried out. Land management, resource and environmental protection, and administrative reform are actively implemented. National defense is strengthened, and sovereignty, territorial integrity, and border security are maintained.

At the conference, delegates expressed their enthusiasm for the province's outstanding achievements in recent times; they unanimously agreed with the policy of rearranging and reorganizing administrative units and building a two-tiered local government, affirming that this is a correct policy stemming from a strategic vision aimed at expanding development space, creating comparative advantages and development potential for the new administrative units with the goal of bringing a truly prosperous and happy life to the people and making the country increasingly strong.

Comrade Niê Thuật - Former Central Committee Member, former Provincial Party Secretary - delivered a speech at the conference.

To successfully accomplish this important task, delegates suggested that Party committees, local governments, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations should effectively disseminate information to cadres, Party members, and the people to ensure they understand the purpose, significance, potential, and advantages of reorganizing administrative units at the commune and provincial levels, creating consensus and unity in implementation; streamline the political system's organizational structure to ensure efficient and effective operation; and build a team of cadres who are both politically sound and professionally competent, possessing high qualifications and expertise, a deep understanding of practical realities, quick and proficient in information technology, flexible and insightful thinking, impeccable moral character, and strong political resolve.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Trung - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - thanked and acknowledged the contributions of former provincial leaders regarding the reorganization of commune-level and provincial-level administrative units, as well as solutions and proposals aimed at developing the province's socio-economic sector to ensure a growth target of 8% or higher. Comrade Nguyen Dinh Trung expressed his hope that in the future, the province will continue to receive the attention, suggestions, and encouragement of former provincial leaders to build Dak Lak into a rapidly and sustainably developing province, contributing to the nation's entry into a new era – an era of strong and remarkable national development.
