Reading a speech at the ceremony, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh affirmed that in the process of national development, Nghe An is an inseparable land of a unified Vietnam.
Through the ups and downs of history, this land has had many different names such as: Hoai Hoan, Cuu Chan, Cuu Duc, Nhat Nam, Hoan Chau.
By the beginning of the Ly Dynasty, the name Hoan Chau was changed to Nghe An. The name "Nghe An" first appeared in 1030, under King Ly Thai Tong, when the king changed the name of Hoan Chau to Nghe An Chau.
The name Nghe An has been around since then, becoming a familiar, affectionate name associated with the heroic history of the nation and existing deeply in the minds of generations of Nghe An people to this day.
The 995th anniversary of the name Nghe An affirms an important milestone, a glorious historical journey in which many generations have devoted their efforts and blood to fight against harsh nature and invaders to build and protect the beautiful land of Nghe An today. This is an opportunity for each citizen to review, understand more, and appreciate more the historical traditions of their homeland; to be more confident and determined to join hands and hearts to build Nghe An province to become more and more beautiful, civilized, and continue the heroic history of the land of "spiritual land and talented people."

Nghe An is a region with a rich tradition of patriotism and revolution. The Nghe Tinh Soviet Movement (1930-1931) marked the first time in Vietnamese history that the working class, peasants and laborers united into a unified bloc, directly stood up to fight for power and established the Soviet government. This was a major turning point, demonstrating the remarkable maturity of political awareness and revolutionary action capacity of the working masses, laying the foundation for the 1936-1939 struggle and the victory of the August Revolution in 1945.
95 years have passed but the Nghe Tinh Soviet heritage still retains its value with traces preserved in the revolutionary homeland. To acknowledge, honor and promote traditional values, Nghe An province is pleased to receive the National Special Monument Ranking Certificate "Places marking the Nghe Tinh Soviet Movement (1930-1931) in Nghe An" with 9 typical relic sites.
For nearly a century, the locations of the Nghe Tinh Soviet Movement (1930-1931) have become a red address in the hearts of every Vietnamese person in general and the people of Nghe An and Ha Tinh in particular, creating a driving force to actively contribute to the successful implementation of the goals set by Party Congresses at all levels.
“A new era and new opportunities are opening up for Nghe An, both opportunities and challenges; to fulfill President Ho Chi Minh's will to make Nghe An a prosperous province in the country, cadres, party members and people of the province will uphold the spirit of solidarity, overcome difficulties, be proactive and creative, promote the patriotic emulation movement, and be determined to successfully complete the set targets, goals and tasks," emphasized Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh presented the National Special Monument ranking certificate "Places marking the Nghe Tinh Soviet Movement (1930-1931) in Nghe An" to the provincial leaders.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong once again emphasized the significance and importance of preserving, renovating and maintaining the Special National Monument "Places marking the Nghe Tinh Soviet Movement (1930-1931) in Nghe An."
In the coming time, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong proposed that the Party Committee and People of Nghe An have a comprehensive and detailed plan for socio-economic development associated with historical and cultural relics in the area, especially relics related to the Nghe Tinh Soviet Movement.
Nghe An province needs to continue researching and collecting historical documents, and coordinate with the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province to build scientific records of other typical relic sites of the movement, creating a widespread and unified relic complex as it has happened in history.
In addition, the staff of the Relic Site need to be trained and fostered in professional skills and have revolutionary ethics to well perform the job of introducing and welcoming domestic and international visitors when they come to this special national relic complex.
Immediately after the ceremony was a special art program called “Soviet Fire” which uniquely combined traditional opera, singing and dancing performances and modern 3D Mapping technology, first introduced at the Nghe An-Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Museum.
From the vivid 3D Mapping space recreating the 1930s setting to the opera "Footprints of the Fire Starter" depicting the climax of the boiling struggle and ending with a chapter continuing the story of peace "Aspiration for Lam River, a mighty Vietnam," all create for the audience a multi-sensory experience, music, light, emotions full of calm and pride.
