Bac Ninh: Ensuring safety for people living in areas outside the riverbank

BAC NINH - Due to the influence of storm No. 10, there was heavy to very heavy rain in the province and the northeastern provinces, causing floods on the river banks. At 4:00 p.m. on October 1, the water level on the Thuong River was 0.58 m above alert level II; on the Luc Nam River at Luc Nam was 0.08 m below alert level II; on the Cau River at Dap Cau was 5.93 m (0.63 m above alert level II), at Phuc Loc Phuong was 7.76 m (0.24 m below alert level III); on the Duong River at Ben Ho was 6.49 m (0.31 m below alert level I).

The Van Ha ward flood and storm prevention force deployed solutions to prevent water from overflowing the dike.

According to forecasts in the next 24 hours, flood water levels on Cau River at Dap Cau and Phuc Loc Phuong stations will rise above alert level 3; on Thuong River at Phu Lang Thuong station will rise above alert level 3 (at 6.50m).

Currently, the Van Ha - Tien Son dike, Van Ha ward, has partially overflowed; some residential areas outside the riverbank in the areas of Dien Loc village, Tam Giang commune; Da Hoi, Xuan Giang, Dong Dao villages, Hop Thinh commune; Mai Trung, Mai Thuong, Mai Ha villages, Xuan Cam commune; Nam Ngan, Nenh ward... have been flooded.

To ensure the safety of people living in areas outside the riverbank and flooded riverbank areas, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requests the People's Committees of the following communes and wards: Tam Giang, Yen Phong, Yen Trung, Tam Da, Kinh Bac, Vu Ninh, Nhan Hoa, Que Vo, Dao Vien, Hung Thai, Xuan Cam, Hiep Hoa, Van Ha, Nenh, Tien Luc, My Thai, Bac Giang , Tan Tien, Tan An, Phuc Hoa, Tan Yen, Viet Yen, Da Mai, Tien Phong, Yen Dung, Canh Thuy, Dong Viet to immediately implement the following tasks: Urgently review, notify and organize the immediate evacuation of all households and properties outside the riverbank to safe areas; absolutely do not let people stay in areas at risk of flooding, causing loss of life.

Arrange military, police, disaster prevention and control forces and other forces to participate in supporting evacuation and ensuring security and order in areas where evacuation is required. Prepare adequate equipment, supplies, and necessities to evacuate people if necessary. Direct local media agencies to regularly update and inform about flood developments and propagate to people to evacuate safely.

At the same time, it is requested that the units: Provincial Police, Provincial Military Command, Department of Construction, Bac Ninh Electricity Company, Bac Ninh Telecommunications, according to their functions and tasks, coordinate to support the relocation and ensure absolute safety for people's lives and property.
