On April 23, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Binh province said in a recently published article that Wanderlust assessed Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park as a "promised land" for those who are passionate about exploring caves - one of the most attractive forms of adventure tourism today.

The most prominent is the "underground wonder" Phong Nha - Ke Bang, which owns the most magnificent cave system in the world - making everyone overwhelmed.

Hidden among the pristine primeval forests, Phong Nha - Ke Bang is like a mysterious world that never ceases to fascinate visitors. Here, hundreds of large and small caves stretch out in the limestone mountains, of which the most prominent is Son Doong Cave - the largest cave in the world, discovered by Mr. Ho Khanh, a local resident, in 1990 and officially explored by international experts in 2009.

Visitors coming here not only admire the rare geological wonders but also participate in a series of exciting adventure experiences from rowing through caves, crossing turbulent underground streams, to camping overnight in the heart of deep caves. Each journey is a true adventure in the middle of pristine nature.

Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park is also considered a "biological treasure" with a rich tropical forest ecosystem. According to statistics, this area is home to 154 species of mammals and 314 species of birds. Notably, in 2024 alone, scientists recorded the appearance of a number of new species of flora and fauna, continuing to affirm the special value of this world natural heritage.

Not only mentioning Phong Nha - Ke Bang, Wanderlust also introduces a series of other adventurous experiences worth trying in Vietnam such as trekking on Hoang Lien mountain range in Sa Pa, diving to explore the ocean in Nha Trang, or conquering waterfalls in Da Lat...

Previously, Wanderlust also ranked Son Doong Cave in the list of 9 "extraterrestrial" destinations - places with surreal beauty that make visitors feel like they are lost in another world.

These positive reviews once again affirm Phong Nha - Ke Bang's position on the world tourism map, while opening up great opportunities for Quang Binh in promoting its image and attracting international tourists.

This is also the time for the locality to continue investing in developing infrastructure and modern tourism services while still preserving natural values and indigenous culture - towards developing green, sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism.
