Since 2022, Ha Phong village (Ky Xuan commune) has started to convert 65 hectares of rice into a large plot model, of which 28 hectares are produced in an organic direction. After 3 years of land accumulation, the appearance of the fields has changed significantly: the internal traffic system has been renovated, irrigation has been dredged smoothly, production infrastructure is more synchronized, creating favorable conditions for mechanization in production. The entire area is currently cultivating a DT39 rice variety of Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company, with a stable yield of about 55 quintals/ha and uniform rice quality.

Mr. Tran Quoc Hoan - Head of Ha Phong village said: “The accumulation of land has completely changed the farming methods of the people. Previously, the fields were fragmented, each household had a few small plots scattered around, making it very hard work but not very effective. When 65 hectares were gathered into large plots, production was much more convenient. Machines could reach all areas, people significantly reduced costs and labor. The area of 28 hectares of organic rice alone brought higher value because it had high standards and was easy to consume. This is an important step to help the village form a truly concentrated production area.”
It is known that Ha Phong village currently has 303 households with more than 1,080 people, most of whom are engaged in agricultural production. Previously, rice production was mainly based on experience, with little application of science and technology. Since the accumulation of land, people have gradually approached organic rice growing processes, reduced the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and improved the quality of the farming environment.

Mr. Dau Tat Thong - one of the households with the largest production in Ha Phong village with 1 hectare of rice said: "In the past, every time we went to the field, we had to run back and forth between the plots, some were high, some were low, it was very hard to work the land and harvest was also difficult. After the accumulation, the fields were connected to the area, so the plows and harvesters were right there, the costs were significantly reduced. Although organic production requires stricter procedures, it is safer, the soil is looser, and the rice is clean and easy to sell. We feel more secure and effective."
Thanks to the concentration of acreage and the application of mechanization, the value of agricultural labor in Ky Xuan commune has been increasingly improved. A field cared for according to organic processes helps reduce input costs by 10-15%, while the selling price of organic rice is often higher than that of mass rice on the market. More importantly, people no longer "do whatever they want" but produce according to a common schedule, which is convenient for water regulation and pest control.

In addition to economic efficiency, land accumulation also contributes to shaping the thinking of organizing large-scale production. In places where people were previously hesitant about the organic model, the success of Ha Phong created confidence for households to boldly change. Localities regularly coordinate with all levels and sectors to open training courses, provide technical support, connect businesses, and aim to form a chain of links from production, processing, and consumption. Since then, the new rural face in Ky Xuan has had more positive changes, especially in areas that were previously difficult.
The good news is that many households in Ha Phong village have boldly expanded to organic models in livestock farming such as: Mr. Tran Van Hop with nearly 30 organic pigs, Mr. Tran Van Trung with 15 cows raised in a biosafety direction... These models create a source of clean food, build reputation and create more income for households.

The Resolution of the Ky Xuan Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term has determined: to focus on developing high-quality agriculture, in an organic and circular direction, linked with enterprises with the target of accumulating land to reach 305 hectares by 2030, and organic production area to reach 100 hectares. This is a big goal, requiring the consensus of the people and investment resources from the locality. However, with the results achieved and the determination of the entire political system, the consensus of the people and the locality, we believe that the set goals will be achieved.
Mr. Dang The Anh - Vice Chairman of Ky Xuan Commune People's Committee said: "Developing organic agriculture is not only a choice but also an inevitable trend to meet the increasing market demand for food quality and safety, contributing to environmental protection, reducing pollution and improving people's health. Ky Xuan Commune will continue to implement capital support programs, agricultural extension, technical training, and at the same time prioritize investment in infrastructure of concentrated production areas, aiming to replicate effective organic production models like in Ha Phong village to create a driving force for economic development of the whole commune".
