After a 0-0 draw against Lorient in the opening round of Ligue 1, PSG decided to lift the ban on first-team training with Kylian Mbappe.
Before the match, the French star was present in the dressing room to greet and encourage his teammates. After that, he appeared in the stands to watch PSG play.
Kylian Mbappe also met with PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, coach Luis Enrique and advisor Luis Campos. The parties seem to have found a "way out" for this deal.
PSG announced on its homepage: "After a positive conversation between PSG and Kylian Mbappe, the team allows the player to return to training with the first team from August 13."
Kylian Mbappe was present at PSG's training ground this morning. Before the training session, President Nasser Al-Khelaifi announced to the whole team: "Mbappe is fully committed to PSG. He agrees to stay."
Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol added: "Kylian Mbappe will stay and play for PSG this season. It is a big victory for PSG after a long period of stalemate.
He will extend his contract until 2025. That means he will not move to Real Madrid for free in the summer of 2024."
Thousands of fans waited at the exit of Campus PSG (the club's training ground) hoping to catch a glimpse of Mbappe. However, the Frenchman did not appear. Instead, they met with President Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
The head of PSG could not hide his happiness. He smiled and greeted the fans. In his excitement, he even signed autographs and took pictures with fans.
PSG fans shouted: "Nasser, you are the best President". They saw the PSG President as a hero when he convinced Kylian Mbappe to stay.
If everything goes well, the striker born in 1998 can play in the match against Toulouse in round 2 of Ligue 1.
