Lai Chau commits to ensuring an equal and transparent investment environment.

Lai Chau Provincial Party Secretary Le Minh Ngan made a commitment to ensuring an equal and transparent investment environment during a meeting and dialogue with businesses and entrepreneurs, which took place on the afternoon of October 13.

Lai Chau provincial leaders awarded certificates of merit to individuals who have made many contributions to the province's development.

With the theme “Government accompanies - Enterprises move forward steadily”, Lai Chau Provincial Party Secretary Le Minh Ngan thanked entrepreneurs and enterprises for accompanying and sharing difficulties with Lai Chau in the past time. He affirmed that Lai Chau is committed to continuing to ensure an equal and transparent investment environment, protecting the legitimate rights of investors, and creating favorable conditions for enterprises to develop long-term.

Currently, the province has 2,265 enterprises with a total registered capital of VND64,306 billion and 442 cooperatives with a registered capital of VND1,409 billion. Of which, small and micro enterprises account for 85%, with an average registered capital of about VND37.9 billion/enterprise. Cooperatives are mainly small-scale, formed from individual production households, with limited capital contributions, low revenue, and a lack of diversity in products. The linkage between cooperatives, enterprises, and households is not tight.

The province still faces many difficulties such as unsynchronized socio -economic infrastructure, limited inter-regional transportation, high transportation costs; population of more than 495,000 people, low urbanization rate and average income, which limits local consumption. Enterprises depend heavily on markets outside the province, increasing costs and reducing competitiveness. There are few skilled trained workers, while administrative procedures have improved, but some steps related to land, site clearance, and investment licensing still take a long time.

Recently, Lai Chau province has implemented many synchronous solutions to improve the investment and business environment, accompanying businesses to overcome difficulties and develop production.

Leaders of Lai Chau Department of Industry and Trade answered opinions and recommendations of businesses at the dialogue session.

At the conference, businesses recommended that the province soon have solutions to improve the quality of human resources, reduce logistics costs, support digital transformation, simplify procedures in granting investment licenses, blasting for hydropower projects, issue codes for Lai Chau ginseng growing areas and promptly issue material price quotes when there are fluctuations to facilitate project settlement.

Enterprises also requested the province to remove difficulties in land lease, forest conversion, capital support, tax incentives, encourage the development of common construction materials and preferential loan mechanisms for agricultural and rural enterprises.

Opinions and recommendations are directly answered and resolved by provincial leaders, departments and branches, creating trust and motivation for businesses to confidently invest and expand production and business activities in the area.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee also awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 collectives and 12 individuals with outstanding achievements in economic development and ensuring social security. The conference also launched a special emulation campaign to achieve achievements in celebration of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
