Proactively overcome the consequences of storm No. 11, ensure the safety of weapons and ammunition

On October 12, in Lang Son province, the working group of the General Department of Logistics and Technology inspected and directed the work of overcoming the consequences of storm No. 11 at Warehouse KV1, Department of Military Armaments.

After storm No. 11 (Matmo) made landfall and weakened into a tropical depression, causing widespread heavy rain, the KV1 Warehouse, the Armament Department, and the General Department of Logistics and Technology were located in the area affected by the storm.

When the water level rose rapidly, the warehouse commander ordered the forces to evacuate documents, machinery and equipment to higher positions, and at the same time directed the teams to increase patrols and guards to keep a close watch on the situation and report to superiors.

When the rain stopped, the Unit Commander and forces entered to check the warehouses and used on-site materials to prevent water from entering the warehouses.

Lead and direct units to carry out post-flood recovery, sanitation, disease prevention... as directed by superiors.

The warehouse commander organized to grasp the thoughts and situation of the troops, especially those whose families suffered losses due to the storm or were in flooded areas; and encouraged the troops to overcome difficulties.

Regarding logistics, properly and fully implement flood and storm prevention; strengthen kitchens, logistics material reserves and take advantage of existing agricultural products to ensure food for soldiers.

Overcome power outages, water shortages, and food shortages in the area; consolidate vegetable gardens, buffalo, cow, goat, and chicken farming areas. Organize sanitation of barracks and technical areas; spray disinfectants and prevent epidemics in the entire unit.

Concluding the inspection, Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc acknowledged and commended the spirit of solidarity, efforts to overcome difficulties, and proactively overcome the consequences of natural disasters of officers and soldiers of Warehouse KV1.

The Director of the General Department of Logistics and Technology requested relevant agencies and units to support materials and funding so that Warehouse KV1 can quickly repair and restore in the shortest time possible.
