According to a survey by VietNamNet, although not officially increasing deposit interest rates by adjusting interest rate schedules, some banks still increase interest rates in many different ways.

BVBank has just announced a preferential program for customers at the end of the year. Accordingly, customers who deposit savings online from 10 million VND, with a term of 1-6 months will receive an additional 0.6%/year interest rate.

With this program, the 6-month online deposit interest rate at BVBank will be up to 5.8%/year, becoming the bank with the highest deposit interest rate at this term.

Meanwhile, BVBank's interest rates for terms under 6 months are also close to the ceiling interest rate as prescribed (4.75%/year), reaching 4.6-4.7%/year. These are the highest current interest rates for deposits with terms under 6 months.

In addition, BVBank generously pays interest rates of up to 7.1%/year for 36-month term deposit certificates, while 18- and 24-month terms have interest rates of 6.7% and 6.9%/year, respectively, applicable from November 19, 2024 to January 31, 2025.

Not only BVBank, some banks have long applied the policy of giving interest rates to depositors. In particular, Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( SeABank ) is still applying the policy of giving 0.5%/year interest rate to customers making online savings deposits for 6-month, 12-month and 13-month terms with a deposit balance of 100 million VND or more.

With the above interest rate policy, the online mobilization interest rate for 6-month term at SeABank is up to 5%/year, 12-month term is 5.5%/year, and 13-month online interest rate is 5.95%/year.

Notably, SeABank is a rare bank that maintains counter deposit interest rates higher than online deposit interest rates.

Currently, the highest online interest rate according to the interest rate schedule announced by SeABank is 5.45%/year, applied to online savings deposits with terms of 18-36 months.

The highest interest rate applied at the counter by SeABank is up to 5.95%/year, sometimes even up to 6.3%/year.

At Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( MSB ), the highest announced deposit interest rate is 5.8%/year, applied to online deposits with terms of 12-36 months.

However, MSB has recently launched a promotion program with the highest savings interest rate of up to 6.3%/year when customers deposit money for terms of 6 months, 12 months, 15 months and 24 months.

The subjects applying the highest mobilization interest rate of 6.3%/year are officers and employees working at MSB bank and companies belonging to TNG Group, or groups of individual customers who are priority customers of MSB in each period.

Meanwhile, OceanBank has recently launched a special mobilization program for individual customers.

Specifically, from December 2, when participating in the program "Happy Spring - Exciting Interest Rates", with terms under 12 months, customers will enjoy a 1-month term interest rate of up to 4.3%, and a 3-month term interest rate of 4.6%. These are the highest interest rates on the market for term deposits under 6 months.

Also in this program, OceanBank applies an interest rate of 5.5%/year for 6-month term deposits and 5.8%/year for 12-month term deposits.

Another bank, Eximbank, recently also launched a special interest rate schedule for individual customers who deposit savings online during the two weekends (Saturday and Sunday).

Accordingly, the online mobilization interest rate on the weekend is up to 6.4%/year for terms of 18-36 months (the highest rate in the market according to the announcement) and the interest rate for 15-month terms is up to 6.3%/year.

Meanwhile, online deposit interest rates on working days are only listed by Eximbank at 5.7%/year (15-month term), 5.8%/year (18-month term), 5.9%/year (24-month term) and 5.2%/year (36-month term).
