Lam Dong warns of floods on Da Nhim River

This morning (November 24), Lam Dong Province Hydrometeorological Station warned of floods on the Da Nhim River.

Accordingly, from last night to this morning (November 24), the water level at 8:00 a.m. at Dai Ninh station was 830.2m, 0.2m above alarm level II.

According to the warning of Lam Dong Province Hydrometeorological Station, floods on Da Nhim River can have very negative impacts on the environment and threaten people's lives.

On the other hand, it can cause damage to infrastructure, roads, bridges, houses; bury and erode productive land. Especially the Da Nhim riverside area in Ninh Gia, Tan Hoi, Tan Ha Lam Ha, Dinh Trang Thuong communes (due to flood discharge from Dai Ninh hydroelectric reservoir), Dong Nai riverside area in Quang Tin, Cat Tien 2, Cat Tien 3, Da Teh communes (due to flood discharge from the hydroelectric reservoir system on Dong Nai river).

Infrastructure and roads in many places were damaged by floods in Lam Dong in recent days.

It is forecasted that this afternoon and evening, the flood on the Da Nhim River is likely to continue to gradually decrease. At Dai Ninh station, the flood is likely to decrease to alert level II. In the next 12 - 24 hours (tonight, tomorrow morning), the flood on the Da Nhim River is likely to continue to gradually decrease. At Dai Ninh station, the flood is likely to decrease to alert level II by 0.1 - 0.2m.

However, the Provincial Hydrometeorological Station warned of the risk of landslides on steep hillsides, embankments, and flooding in low-lying areas along the Da Nhim River in the areas of Ninh Gia, Tan Hoi, Tan Ha Lam Ha, and Dinh Trang Thuong (due to regulated discharge through the spillway from the Dai Ninh Hydropower Reservoir).

It is known that the system of hydroelectric dams on the Da Nhim River, Dong Nai is currently discharging water to regulate floods. The total discharge to the downstream at the hydroelectric reservoirs at 8:00 a.m. on November 24 is: Don Duong 151m ³ /s; Dai Ninh 380m ³ /s; Dong Nai 3 is 553m ³ /s; Dong Nai 4 is 559m ³ /s; Dong Nai 5 is 561m ³ /s.
