On the afternoon of August 28, in Hanoi, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Cultural Sector's Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2023), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a Conference to commend typical advanced examples in the cultural field in 2023.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent a congratulatory letter. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the conference.
This is an important event to evaluate the emulation movement of the Cultural Sector; evaluate the implementation process of 6 tasks and 4 solutions to build and develop Vietnamese culture and people in the new period according to the Conclusion of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Cultural Conference in 2021.
The 2023 National Conference on Commending Typical and Advanced Models in the Cultural Field is one of three main events organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to practically celebrate the 78th anniversary of the Cultural Sector's Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2023) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2023).
This is an opportunity for the staff working in culture, sports, tourism and family from central to local levels to review the process of formation, development and contribution of the Culture Sector; at the same time, to have a deeper, more complete and comprehensive awareness of the role and especially important position of culture in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, as well as in realizing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country, worthy of the cause of innovation and the glorious historical tradition of a thousand years of civilization of the nation.
In her opening remarks at the Conference, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said: This conference to honor typical advanced models is an opportunity for us to acknowledge the efforts of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector, to unleash all potentials and resources, new motivations, new breakthroughs from culture, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of the country. This is also an opportunity to commend and promote advanced and excellent models in the patriotic emulation movement selected from units and localities; continue to make the emulation movement of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector increasingly develop in both breadth and depth, truly be the driving force to promote and improve the efficiency and quality of work in the coming time.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh appreciated the dedication and contributions of cultural workers nationwide; warmly congratulated 78 advanced models and acknowledged and commended the efforts and achievements of the cultural sector in recent times.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, State and Government always pay special attention to, issue and effectively implement many policies and strategies, and devote many resources to building and developing culture, preserving national culture, developing literature and arts and many other cultural fields.
The Prime Minister said that the new development stage with the world situation changing rapidly, complicatedly and unpredictably; especially the Fourth Industrial Revolution affecting all aspects of social life, brings new opportunities and fortunes but also many challenges for the work of preserving and developing culture, arts, sports and tourism.
In order to both promote the good values of the nation and absorb the quintessence of human culture, create momentum for socio-economic development, and firmly ensure national defense and security, the Prime Minister suggested that it is necessary to join hands and unite with high determination and great efforts, resolutely and effectively implement tasks and solutions, focusing on thoroughly grasping and seriously and effectively implementing the guidelines and policies of the Party and State; the direction of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Cultural Conference; and to develop programs and plans, set out specific tasks, clear roadmaps, and assign the right people to the right jobs.
Continue to innovate the approach and management thinking from "doing culture" to "state management of culture", focusing on implementing assigned tasks in a proactive, serious, resolute, flexible and creative spirit.
Continue to review, revise and supplement institutions, mechanisms and policies for cultural development in accordance with the new context and situation. Strengthen the mobilization and maximize the effectiveness of state and social resources for comprehensive cultural development, so that culture and people are truly the endogenous strength of the nation.
Urgently complete the National Target Program on cultural revival and development, building Vietnamese people for the period 2026 - 2030, with a vision to 2045. Build a clean and healthy cultural environment with a focus on preserving, promoting and multiplying the nation's precious cultural and traditional values.
Create favorable conditions, strongly stimulate the creativity of artists to create cultural, literary and artistic works of high value, fully, vividly and attractively reflecting the traditional beauty of the nation and the reality of the country's renovation process. Sustainable preservation, effective promotion of the nation's cultural heritage, connecting and motivating the development of economy, sports and tourism.
Further develop mass sports to both improve the health of the entire population and create a premise for developing high-performance sports. Select, nurture, and train sports talents with a focus; promote public-private cooperation in the field of high-performance sports.
Further promote the recovery and development of tourism in a modern direction with diverse and attractive products, creating distinct values and competitive prices based on the potential and strengths of the country and people of Vietnam.
The Prime Minister hopes and believes that today's exemplary delegates will uphold their sense of responsibility, continue to be a source of inspiration, a driving force, and strongly spread "real stories of real people and real events"; so that after this Conference, we will have more and more good examples and good practices, contributing to the implementation of the tasks of the cultural sector in particular, and for the cause of cultural development in general./.
