Spreading Yoga practice movement in the province

To improve health and spiritual life, everyone chooses a favorite sport , suitable for their physical condition and time to practice such as: GYM, swimming, jogging, aerobics, dancing, playing soccer, badminton, volleyball... Especially, in recent years, the movement of practicing and competing in Yoga has also been organized by the Provincial Yoga Federation, attracting thousands of people to participate enthusiastically, creating a spread throughout the localities. Thereby contributing positively to the sports movement and high achievements of the province.

Mr. Do Quoc Hoang, Chairman of the Provincial Yoga Federation, said that Yoga originated in India, is a discipline that helps balance, improve the mind, and improve human physical strength. For Yoga practice, we do not need to practice all the postures, just practice within limits, suitable for our physical condition. Therefore, Yoga is of interest to many people, who love to practice to improve their physical health. According to statistics, currently in the province, there are more than 3,000 people participating in activities, maintaining regular practice at Yoga clubs, centers, and gyms in the province, with many diverse forms of learning: Online learning, group practice, tutoring, self-practice at home... Mr. Do Trung Phuong, 39 years old, working at Ninh Phuoc Electricity, a Yoga student of the My Tam The Club, shared that in 2020, he and his wife learned yoga to improve their health, balance their mind, and relax. At first, practicing was quite difficult due to old age and stiff muscles and bones. However, with a high spirit of determination, enthusiasm, and methodical technical guidance from the coach, he and his wife quickly learned and practiced many Yoga exercises with advanced movements and techniques. Recently, Mr. Phuong was excited to be selected by the Ninh Thuan Yoga Federation to participate in the 4th National Yoga Championship. As a result, he won a Gold Medal and was awarded the title of National Yoga Master in 2022.

The Yoga practice movement in the province is increasingly spreading in the community and achieving remarkable results. Typically, in 2022, Ninh Thuan Yoga Federation organized 2 classes of Yoga instructors and trainers. Signed a joint agreement with 4 Federations including the provinces of Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa and Dong Nai to promote exchanges and support each other in organizing activities to develop the Yoga movement in the cluster. Coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DTC) and the Embassy of India in Ho Chi Minh City to organize International Yoga Day (June 21) at April 16 Square (Phan Rang - Thap Cham City) attracting more than 1,000 participants. Coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the Provincial Yoga Club Cup. Mobilized 200 members to perform Yoga at the Opening Ceremony of the 7th Provincial Sports Festival. In coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Yoga Federation successfully hosted the 4th National Yoga Championship in Ninh Thuan, attracting more than 100 athletes from inside and outside the province to participate. As a result, the Provincial Yoga Team won 1 Gold medal, 5 Silver medals and 4 Bronze medals. Excellently ranked second overall... Thereby, actively contributing to the high-performance sports of the province.

Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, Ninh Thuan Yoga Federation will continue to innovate methods and content of activities to attract members, promote the Yoga practice movement; participate in a number of national Yoga competitions, Ninh Thuan Province Yoga Club Cup in 2023. Open professional training courses for coaches. Organize seminars on therapeutic and restorative Yoga for members of Yoga clubs and facilities in the province and neighboring provinces. Mobilize socialized funds to organize community Yoga activities; develop the Yoga movement for schools and children. Thereby creating a premise for training, coaching, and hosting national and international Yoga competitions. In particular, Yoga has now been officially recognized as the 52nd sport, conferred the title of grandmaster athlete, national-level athlete when achieving high achievements at national competitions and enjoying the regime according to State regulations. Therefore, we hope that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for bringing Yoga into the province's annual competition system; pay attention to proposing that the province invest in developing Yoga in a professional, high-performance sport direction...
