In 2025, the entire school had 32 projects participating in the awards, of which 16 received commendations. Notable examples include: the initiative "Automatic Slow-Burning Wire Cutter" by Major Pham Xuan Vang (lecturer in the Infantry Combat Engineering Department) and his colleagues, aimed at facilitating the use of simulated explosives in training, field exercises, and drills, ensuring convenience, speed, and safety; and the initiative "K54 Pistol Shooting Training Device" by a team led by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen To Quoc Dung (lecturer in the General Military Science Department), which simulates the process of firing live ammunition, ensuring mobility and safety, while also making it easier and more effective to check the results of K54 pistol shooting training by using a laser to monitor the aiming process and check the aiming line at the moment the trainee finishes firing...

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen To Quoc Dung shared: "The K54 pistol shooting training device also helps trainees to proactively practice shooting the K54 pistol in a flexible manner without needing to borrow a real gun. Based on the reality of previous K54 pistol shooting training using traditional methods, which easily became boring and lacked quality due to the difficulty in assessing the aiming line and impact point on the target; some devices were applied but were expensive, not widely available, and prone to shaking..., our team has successfully researched and tested the "K54 pistol shooting training device," contributing to improving the quality of training and live firing of the K54 pistol for all trainees in the school."
Over the years, initiatives from officers, lecturers, and students of the Army Officer School 2 have been evaluated and applied in many fields, such as military training, education , logistics, and technology. The quality of these initiatives has steadily improved. This is not only confirmed by practical application but also by the results of participation in the Youth Innovation Award in the Army. From 2015 to the present, the school has had 80 projects by more than 180 authors participating in the Youth Innovation Award; of which 44 projects won high prizes, with an average winning rate of 55%.
According to Lieutenant General, Master's Degree holder Nguyen Xuan Son, Political Commissar of the Army Officer School 2: Teaching combined with scientific research is a requirement for every officer and lecturer. Therefore, the Party committees and commanders at all levels in the school always create conditions for officers and lecturers to participate in scientific research. The Youth Union and its officers, members, and young people consider scientific research and participation in the Youth Innovation Award as an important task in the Youth Union's work and youth movement. On that basis, the youth throughout the school are proactive, dynamic, and creative in scientific research with the highest responsibility and quality, contributing to the successful fulfillment of assigned duties and responsibilities.
