Spreading the spirit of competition and the desire to contribute

With the enthusiasm and desire to contribute of youth, the Youth Union of Thanh Hoa Medical College has carried out many exciting and practical emulation activities, attracting a large number of union members and young people to participate, with many outstanding achievements, thereby being honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the 11th Patriotic Emulation Congress of Thanh Hoa province, period 2025-2030.

Thanh Hoa Medical College Youth Union cooperated with To Hien Thanh High School to organize a sex education and first aid program for students.

In the past 5 years (2020-2025), thousands of Youth Union members of Thanh Hoa Medical College have been present in all regions of the province to carry out meaningful projects and tasks for the community. The youth projects and tasks that exist everywhere have affirmed the mark of the school's Youth Union members in the hearts of the people. One of the highlights is that the youth volunteer movement has been increasingly deployed widely, demonstrating the unique features of the school's Youth Union members. Typically, in 2020 and 2021, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, the school's Youth Union established many volunteer teams to support the Provincial Center for Disease Control in taking samples for testing in communes and wards, contributing to preventing the spread of the disease. In difficult mountainous communes such as Yen Khuong, Nam Xuan, Pu Nhi, Song Chang Youth Village..., the school's volunteer teams have joined hands to build and repair cultural houses, build playgrounds for children, repair and beautify historical relics, visit and give gifts to policy families, families in difficult circumstances, and organize cultural activities for children.

As medical students, the school's Youth Union always shows a sense of responsibility and is a pioneer in the blood donation movement to save patients' lives. In order to spread the movement strongly, the school's Youth Union has established a voluntary blood donation club with 40 members and nearly 200 collaborators. Every year, the school's Youth Union organizes 2-3 blood donation campaigns, each collecting 200-300 units of blood. In particular, maintaining a live blood bank has contributed hundreds of units of rare blood and platelets to save patients' lives in emergency situations. To revive the lives of many people, the school's Youth Union has actively participated in "Voluntary Blood Donor Honor Day", "Red Sunday", "Red Journey", making the movement a regular and continuous activity to multiply the noble meaning of this humanitarian work.

Secretary of the Youth Union of Thanh Hoa Medical College Chu Thi Hoang Anh said: “In recent years, the school's youth volunteer movement has developed strongly in both breadth and depth. The scale of volunteer types has been diversified, attracting a large number of youth union members to participate. The activities are all educational, creative, practical and effective. Through volunteer activities, the school's youth union members have received valuable lessons about responsibility to the community, about love for people, about the will and aspirations of youth. From the results achieved, the school's youth union continues to identify the joint activities for the community as a large movement and will develop comprehensively in many fields, contributing to fostering awareness, ideals and actions for each youth union member, thereby improving the quality of youth union activities in the school".

In order to promote the creative spirit of youth in studying and arouse the desire to start a business in the Youth Union, in 2021, the school's Youth Union organized the "1st Creative Ideas" contest among the Youth Union. After 5 years of organization, the contest has had a great influence when many authors and groups of authors who are Youth Union officials and Youth Union members participated with good, unique ideas that can be applied in practice. There are many creative ideas participating from the school level to the final round of the "Creative Ideas, Startup" contest at the provincial level organized by the Provincial Youth Union and won prizes such as "Binh An Bath Salt", "Online Hostel"... This is a useful playground to encourage creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and an opportunity for young people to show their talents.

The program "Accompanying young people in studying and scientific research" has attracted many young cadres and teachers to register and complete postgraduate programs. Many young teachers have proactively researched, innovated teaching methods and actively participated in the emulation movement of good teaching - good learning. The Executive Committee of the School Youth Union has also organized many support programs, encouraging young union members to compete in studying, participate in the "English Olympic", "Golden Bell" contests, register to achieve the title of "5 Good Students", "January Star"... For students with difficult circumstances, the School Youth Union regularly seeks funding sources, scholarship funds and introduces them to the school's learning promotion association and learning promotion associations at all levels to award scholarships to support them on their learning path.

To provide opportunities and help young people find jobs, the program "Accompanying young people to start a business" is actively coordinated by the school's union with other units. Many seminars introducing the nursing internship program in Japan; many counseling and job introduction sessions are organized, attracting over 1,000 young people to participate each year. Thereby, helping final year students approach recruiting units to choose jobs that suit their abilities and family circumstances.

Each project, each task, no matter how big or small, carries the spirit of vanguard and the desire to contribute of the youth of Thanh Hoa Medical College. That is also the motivation for each Youth Union member of the school to continue to strive, contribute their youth in studying and participating in community activities, and achieve more outstanding achievements in the next period.
