Leaders of Nghe An Department of Health visited and worked at Laos

(NADS) - On the morning of April 4, 2024, in Xieng Khouang province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, a working delegation of Nghe An Department of Health led by Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department visited and worked at Laos - Vietnam Friendship Hospital.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa, Director of Nghe An Provincial Department of Health, spoke at the seminar during the Vietnamese delegation's visit to the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Hospital.

The delegation included Dr. Nguyen Huu Le - Deputy Director of the Department; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Huong - Director of Nghe An General Hospital; Dr. Tang Xuan Hai - Director of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital; Dr. Nguyen Viet Binh - Deputy Director of Nghe An Oncology Hospital; Chairman of the Industry Union and representatives of the Department of Health's departments.

On behalf of Xieng Khouang Department of Health (Laos), there was Dr. De Dang - Deputy Director of the Department of Health; Board of Directors and departments of Laos - Vietnam Friendship Hospital.

In recent times, hospitals in Nghe An province have received medical staff from Xieng Khouang General Hospital to study techniques in the fields of surgery, anesthesia, resuscitation, obstetrics, emergency, otolaryngology, endocrinology and biochemistry. In addition, provincial hospitals have sent experts to provide "hands-on" training to hospital staff from other provinces. After the training, Xieng Khouang medical staff have mastered many advanced techniques that have not been performed at provincial hospitals before, such as: tendon connection, skin grafting, spinal anesthesia, endotracheal cannulation, 398 laparoscopic surgeries; 232 bone and joint surgeries, etc.

The Lao-Vietnam Friendship Hospital in Xieng Khouang Province is a meaningful project implemented from the non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government to the Lao Government. The hospital has a scale of 200 beds, with spacious facilities, modern medical technology and equipment; gradually forming and developing specialized departments, good experts, and a national standardized medical network; Contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people of Xieng Khouang Province in general and the people of the Northeastern provinces of Laos in particular.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the delegation, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa sent her best wishes to the hospital's leadership and staff on the occasion of the Lao traditional New Year. At the same time, the Director of the Nghe An Provincial Department of Health also expressed his joy at the development of the Hospital after cutting the ribbon and handing it over for use in May 2023. The facilities and medical equipment have all been effective. The quality of medical examination and treatment has been increasingly improved, many specialized techniques have been gradually deployed, and the Hospital has gradually become a trusted address for the Lao people.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa affirmed that the Nghe An health sector will continue to coordinate and help Xieng Khouang Hospital develop comprehensively, demonstrating solidarity, friendship and good cooperation between the two sectors and the two provinces of Nghe An and Xieng Khouang.

Speaking to thank the delegation, Dr. Vi La Det Pa Pha Sili - Director of the Hospital emphasized: The hospital project and the support from the Nghe An Health Sector cannot be appreciated by material value, but this is the most meaningful gift, demonstrating the everlasting and everlasting friendship between Vietnam and Laos. The Hospital Director also hopes that in the coming time, Nghe An hospitals will continue to support and help the hospital to successfully complete its task of caring for and protecting people's health.

Also today, the delegation of Nghe An Department of Health paid a courtesy visit and presented gifts to the Board of Directors and Head Teachers of Xieng Khouang Medical College on the occasion of Lao traditional New Year. These activities are part of the program of the visit to evaluate the results of cooperation in the field of health between Nghe An and Xieng Khouang provinces.
