On July 18th, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Transport Infrastructure Management Center launched a pilot project to install streetlights at the Ba Son station of metro line 1, in the Nguyen Huu Canh - Ton Duc Thang area, District 1.
According to the Road Infrastructure Management Center, this is a solar-powered street light that illuminates at night. The surface of the light features a directional chart of Metro Line 1 for passengers to consult in the waiting area.

Currently, the center is conducting pilot installations in District 1 and Binh Thanh District, and will subsequently expand to Thu Duc City along the metro line 1 stations.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport is also developing a plan to connect 34 bus routes with Metro Line 1. Connecting the stations of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien railway line with the main bus routes, branch bus routes, and feeder bus routes will create a unified multimodal public transport system.
The streetlights are powered by solar energy at night.
Metro Line 1 is 19.7km long, including 2.6km underground and 17.1km elevated. The total investment, after adjustments, is 43,700 billion VND. The project's route passes through District 1, Binh Thanh District, Thu Duc City, and Di An ( Binh Duong ).
The entire Metro Line 1 has 3 underground stations: Ben Thanh, Ba Son, and Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, and 11 elevated stations including: Van Thanh, Tan Cang, Thao Dien, An Phu, Rach Chiec, Phuoc Long, Binh Thai, Thu Duc, High-Tech Park, Ho Chi Minh City National University, and Suoi Tien Bus Station.
Currently, the metro line has reached 98% completion, and the trains are undergoing technical testing. Commercial operation is expected in the fourth quarter of 2024.
