Reporter : After a number of famous roles on the big screen such as: "Bo gia", "Ghe beo ghe ai 2", "Chi Chi Em Em 2", "Nha ba Nu"..., how does Le Giang feel about her own progress ?
- Artist LE GIANG: I could not dream of anything more in front of the great affection that the audience has for me. The process of artistic work has given me the opportunity to experience many things, from which I have constantly strived to express the personalities of the characters assigned to me. Each fate, each role has left me with much happiness and I feel that every day to turn gratitude into motivation to continue.
Looking back at your artistic career, is Le Giang satisfied with yourself now ?
- The ancestors have loved me and given me many lucky things, which are beyond my imagination. Many nights I lie thinking, I see that I have everything: family, work, two children Duy Phuoc and Le Loc are grown up, can take care of themselves, and the youngest son is 5 years old (currently in Australia), so I don't ask for anything more. I am very happy.
Coming from Thanh Nga Cai Luong Troupe, but why does Le Giang rarely appear on the Cai Luong stage ?
- I entered the profession thanks to the guidance of my uncle, artist Thanh Phu. He specializes in playing a single character on the Kim Chung Opera Troupe stage. Since I was little, I followed my uncle behind the scenes, so I was very bold. Seeing that I had talent, my uncle advised me to pursue an acting career. After that, I embarked on the path of art. The opera stage is my cradle, so I always longed for the opportunity to return to perform when I found a suitable role.
. Recently, Le Giang won another gold medal for her role as Mrs. Tam, a rice cake seller, in the play "Afternoon Sun" at the National Drama Festival. Will this bring Le Giang back to the drama stage?
- Last week, artist Minh Nhi invited me to collaborate with Truong Hung Minh Stage, however, in September I will have to participate in a movie project and spend time in Australia visiting my son, so I promised that when I finish my work, I will participate in a play. I still love the stage, I really like to immerse myself in the spotlight, to laugh and cry with my co-stars.
Looking at the progress of two descendants pursuing acting careers, what does Le Giang think ?
- My two children are grown up. Duy Phuoc has a family, both husband and wife have decided to be vegetarians. Le Loc also has many good roles on Hong Van Drama Stage, having a role that won a gold medal is something that makes me extremely happy. I just hope that my two children will continue to strive, maintain their faith in their profession to live up to the love of the public.
One year, Le Loc was the red carpet MC with Tuan Dung at the Mai Vang Awards ceremony organized by the Lao Dong Newspaper. I was so happy because my daughter was able to diversify her work, do well, and make efforts to be recognized by the public and the press.

After the breakups , does Le Giang plan to find a new marriage?
- (laughs) I don't think about that now, I just hope to always be happy with my current job.
On the path to art, which teacher does Le Giang remember most, and why ?
- I am grateful to the director - People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau. In the later stages of my artistic career, when I experienced many life events, I thought my career had stopped, but in all my roles and artistic projects, I received guidance and advice from People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau. Regarding starting a career, if it weren't for artist Thanh Phu - my uncle, I certainly wouldn't have pursued art, there would be no Le Giang on stage.
Which role does Le Giang like best on stage and in movies ?
- Each role has many memories, many beautiful memories, so looking back now, it is difficult for me to say which role is better and which role I like more. However, in each character's fate, I put my own feelings into it.
For example, the role of Mrs. Tam, who sells rice paper in the play "Afternoon Sun", has a beautiful message from a woman in the afternoon. Mrs. Tam is in the same situation as her two old friends who left their hometown and followed their children to Ho Chi Minh City to live. In her lonely old age, she feels helpless before the pressure of her children's life. She seeks the help of her old friends, recalls her youthful memories, and comforts and encourages each other to overcome the mental pain of old age when having to depend on their children. The role's identity speaks to many social issues - filial piety, preserving traditions and morality of the nation are the most sustainable bonds. I really like roles that connect generations in the family, working together to preserve the identity of Vietnamese culture.
What is Le Giang most concerned about right now?
- Do charity work. I do it quietly, if I have little I do little, if I have much I do much. When I cannot participate directly, I contribute funds, absolutely do not collect donations but only do charity with my own money. To the best of my ability, I hope to contribute to sharing and helping those in need. That is the responsibility of an artist when receiving so much love from the public.
LE GIANG emerged as a new phenomenon in the art world. On television, she was loved through the films: "Song tinh", "Co gai ug xi", "Cui chong cho vo", "Oan gia bum cheo", "Ngoi nha teen", "Gia dinh het say"... On the big screen, she gradually conquered the audience through many supporting roles but created a vibrant performance through the films: "Vu quy dai nao", "Cua lai vo bau", "Phap su blind", "Em la cua em", "Cuoc xe nhu dem"... She won the Promising Artist award at the 2005 Laughing Gala, the championship award of "Guong mat than quen nhi 3", the Green Star Award - Excellent supporting role (film "Bo gia").
